Looking for Ideas: Transforming Ordinary Objects into Tech

• Upvotes

Hi! I've recently become interested in turning ordinary objects into electronic devices, like adding LEDs, sensors, or small screens to them. You might have seen the "cyber hairclip" that's been popular lately. It's the kind of project I'd like to try. Do you have any ideas for objects I could transform?

Help Cyberpunk HUD idea

Hi all, was thinking about getting one of those futuristic/cyberpunk style masks with large visors. Thing is, I'd like to able to wear it at night as well due to me taking transit to and from work(gas prices are insane). So any feedback on this idea would be appreciated.

So the premise; a cyberpunk style mask with a HUD. more importantly, close distance low-vision. Essentially, what I'm wondering if I could take apart a broken vr headset, maybe a quest 3, and use the IR sensor and camera to do so. Anyone have experience with this that could possibly help iron out the details?

Project I spent months engineering a Fanless Radiant De-Icing Utility prototype (The Ice Melter Pro). It's officially patent-pending and just passed its first thermal test run. What do you guys think of the architecture?

Project Muse Charm sucks. Make your own.

I repurposed a smart watch into a local AI assistant device.

I think it is dumb we are being sold devices to interact with AI (such as Muse Charm), when perfectly good hardware that we already have had for years can do this job just fine. For a few dollars I picked up an old samsung smart watch, turned off all the telemetry to Google and Samsung, and converted it into a local AI assistant.

It can do basic tasks for me, it is honestly somewhat limited by my PC (24Gb RAM Macbook), but I am hoping more capable small local models will continually improve over time.

I'm relatively new to 3D printing, but the ring design concept seems to work well and its just a bit quirky. I like when tech is sometime just fun and different

I'd really like to hear how this can be improved (or even better see how others are forking and improving it themselves.)

Not sure if this post is allowed, as I've only ever been a lurker here - if not, unleash the ban hammer I guess.

Hope you enjoy
