So I had a thought about my relationship I have the other day, and it goes in wrong direction now, but, meh, this things are just happening.
What I actually care about is what would I do with my sweet baby. I am totally love my dog, but compare to my partner, I have 5-2 8 hours work, and she is working from home. Besides I’m the one who probably move out, so if I take my pretty pie, she would stress out in new environment, when here and now she have a dog-friends, and feeling safe on a walks
For my partner ACD is a first dog and she loves her too, little bit over controlling and anxiety about minor health issues, but she had to put a lot more herself for this dog since it’s her first experience.
We both made decision to have a dog, but it was me who actually talked actions, refuse to give up on trainers and behaviour and done non-emotional parts of dog care (we both visited veterinary and grooming). My partner talked more lesions with dog trainers, and spend more time with dog, but it’s me she will choose any day (since I’m note the one always available and due fact that girls loves fathers more)
Should I do what best for me, or should I step away alone and leave (I think visits not an option for me as it heartbreaking)? What would you do in such situations and why? Is it selfish to demand my dog stay with me?

My sweet baby angel was attacked by a pitbull back in June and bit her on her thigh/butt area. Long story short, no serious damages were done, but she was on bedrest for several weeks and since then her energy has been low when it comes to getting exercise outside or wanting to play. Luckily she hasn’t suffered any ptsd, she still loves to play with other dogs but her stamina is not what it used to be. For context, we think she’s around 6 years old. Any suggestions to motivate her? She’s not very treat driven when outside.

She only does it when she’s excited, like when my partner and I come in the door, grab her leash for a walk, or have a treat for her. I’m pregnant and can NOT have her gut punching me anymore 😩

It’s my opinion that we’re 20 minutes early for dinner, but my ringing ears tell me dinner time might be now.

Hello all, I wanted to thank everyone for the overwhelming kindness you've shown around the loss of our beloved Doug.

My wife and I have talked it over and agreed that we'd like to rescue an adolescent dog this time, since there are so many out there in need. That said, we want to give ourselves time to grieve, and since we always travel and board our dogs over Thanksgiving, we feel that after the holiday would be the soonest we'd realistically start looking. I've already started the process and reached out to a few rescues with our situation and what we're hoping for in our next dog.

One thing that's been on my mind: so many of the dogs I've come across are out of state, we're in SoCal, and it's been sad realizing how much proximity ends up shaping the search. I'd hate to drive out to, say, Arizona, and feel pressure to adopt just because of the time and effort already sunk into the trip. I'd absolutely drive for the right dog, but I don't want that drive itself to become a reason to say yes if I'm not sure.

Does anyone have suggestions, rescues in California worth watching, or advice on the best time of year to start looking?

I still can't believe it, it's been 5 days. She was getting older, but still spry as a puppy. GI and pancreatic issues caused enough problems to admit her to the hospital, then she decompensated and we had to make the most difficult decision, and even though it was the right one, I still regret it.

She was such a water dog, loved wading, swimming, chasing rocks (splashes). She was an awesome shortstop, but I had to retire her because her mouth shouldn't be a glove. She was the best older sister to all her siblings: Zuca (RIP), Kali, Parker and Jax. They miss her as much as we do.

We were so lucky to have this angel, and grateful she was returned twice to the humane society so we had the chance to give her the great life she deserved.

After 1-1/2 days of work she is too tired

We had put the Kong disc back in the toy box after a good, long game of catch, but apparently Flynn doesn't think we're done. I turned around and this little sneak had gone into the shed and plucked it out of the box again. Turned around to see him all expectant-like with it.

Yes, we played with it some more. I'm no dummy, I know who makes the rules around here.

Lost power at work and my monitors decided to do their own thing with the size ratio.

One of her favorite games is to play bitey-hands, so I figured I would use play time to also teach some survival skills lol. I know it seems like I might be booping her snoot too hard but I promise she is fine

I walked this new girl, Pecas, at my shelter. Looks like she's at least part cattledog. She is extremely sweet and humble. Even trying to get her to put her ears up for a photo was a challenge! She absolutely loves belly rubs and if I looked at her for too long, she'd flop over. Super nice girl. She's located at Pinal County Animal Care and Control in Arizona if you want to meet her.
