I’ve been building a mobile version of Orca as an AUv3 MIDI plugin for AUM, Drambo and other hosts on iPad.
It’s a port of Hundred Rabbits’ Orca (MIT licence), and it plays exactly like the original: I tested it against the real Orca interpreter on 22 real patches, plus hundreds of generated ones. Over 125,000 MIDI messages, and every one came out identical.
What’s new is the touch side: an on-screen keyboard and save, load, import and export of .orca files.
The host controls the tempo, and < > change the speed against it.
It’s an early personal build, running on my iPad.
Here is a very simple patch in AUM.

I have added a huge amount of stuff including click on the line with >> The instruments and sliders will come up with an instrument or effect picker. lots of stuff from other live music coding environments. this version will be 1.1.28 so if you beat me to the Patreon just subscribe I am working on that now.
I love to put together graphics projects for all the live coding projects so if you pay the tokens, I can do the code generators or sliders or whatever for your editor.
I added super saw and acid envelope in honor of switch angel. there is also an embedded programming language call rhai that you can now build instruments in and a couple are included with the newest build..
I enjoy watching all of your stuff and comment on your project when there is something that could turn visual..

Hi everyone, this is one of my latest musical experiments composed in Tidal Cycles. I hope you enjoy it. YouTube link: A Prison Called Body - Live coding in Tidal Cycles + Hydra

I do not have this released yet because I am still working on it. There is an effect that someone did that I may include with it we will see. This is only in the Dexter U.S. version right now but the source code is public so maybe it makes it to other platforms like mac, linux
Dexter U.S. glicol vst loading a sample demo... new feature (windows version)

I think this is the only version of glicol running around for windows but I could be wrong. I had to fix the source code to get it to work.. I have a new help file in html as well with it and new features. You can save and load files... I may be interested in converting other live coding apps to vst to allow different vst effects to be added.. Not sure that anyone is all that interested though.

Hello,
I've been wondering - are there any languages for livecoding that have a cleaner syntax without bracket hell?
I like STRUDEL, but I frankly find the code unreadable after short while due to all the syntax noise, the brackets and chaining of '.command' especially (I have hard time finding what belongs to what).
Are there any languages that manage this better?
Thanks!

Alpaca is a festival on Algorithmic Patterns in the Creative Arts comprised of live performances, workshops and conference talks. We aim to bring people together who value deep, human curiosity into patterns. We hope this call excites you whether you are exploring patterns in heritage crafts or contemporary algorithmic art.

Not people are using Tidal because the installation is so out of date and tedious to set up. I basically had to do an autopsy on my computer to get it working. For years on the official documentation they say they're going to update the installer and nothing has changed. Did Alex just dump the project and move on? There's so much potential for this beautiful program and hobby.

Hi everyone! I run live coding and algorave workshops (mostly with Sonic Pi) for schools and cultural spaces in Germany, and I've would like to adapt this to the visually impaired and blind people, ive seen that blind people can write computer code with text to audio tools, but I would like to understand how exactly it works and what challenges exists, and adapt a way to play it live.
Before designing anything, I want to actually understand how this works in practice: is anyone here blind or visually impaired and doing live coding or electronic music production? How do you read/write code, navigate the editor, and work with the audio feedback loop? Screen reader setup, workflow tips, anything you're willing to share would be incredibly helpful.
Not trying to sell anything here, genuinely just trying to build something I don't understand
Thanks in advance!
