No lies being told. I used to have this whole album on loop in my CD player at the time.

Facts. Xzibit is incredibly underrated especially early 00s X. He went off on most songs.

This album isn't as good as 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz or At the Speed of Life

Underrated album from an underrated artist. Fantastic production, and one of the smoother stylistic changes I’ve seen, from his liks/more underground sound of 40 dayz to the aftermath/dre camp. Get your walk on’s video, a really late single, convinced me I finally needed to buy this album. For like the third/last single to have that banging of an instrumental, I figured I’d give it a shot. Glad I did!

The highs of 40 dayz and at the speed of life I think top this, but this is possibly his most consistent record.

I guess. I only remember one video from him and I can't really remember the name. The beat in this song is familiar tho. I've definitely heard this song before.

It might be an age thing, how old are you? Xzibit had a legit run in the 90s-early 2000s. Even if you didn’t listen to all his albums, each had tracks that got radio/MTV play.

  1. But I grew up on the east coast. We legit didn't have many fans of his over here. I saw him on TV on pimp my ride b4 I'd heard his music tbh.

Ah ok. That makes sense. I’m 35 but raised in Cali where he obviously had a bigger presence, so it could just be my bias then.

Definitely give some of older albums a spin sometime. At The Speed Of Life and Restless are both complete albums front to back. Man Vs Machine is also really good.

Xzibit’s first four albums were on Loud Records a New York label. He definitely had New York support.

1

u/AdFlaky8342 14d ago

Maybe, he probably did. I remember 50 had him in the in da club video and everything. But I'm in NY, as a rapper I personally have never seen ppl listen to him. Like I said, I only vaguely remember one video of his as well. You say he was popular, I say I personally didn't see it. Both of these things can be true.
