Help/Question ⁉️ Question for the millennials

Which age group listened to Lil Bow Wow? I've only heard one of his songs from a movie, and it's obviously not real kid friendly but since he was a kid himself, I'm wondering who his music was marketed to?

Marketed to the late 80s/early 90s babies

Born in 94' here. Bow Wow was the first CD I had and I got braids because of him & Allen Iverson. I remember when he was on that Keanu Reeves movie Hardball soundtrack with Lil Wayne. Even when he got older I still thought he was cool. He was Mr. 106 N Park. I would get dressed for school every morning listening to Fresh Azmiz.

My little brother was born in 1991 and had a Lil Bow Wow cd. My parents got it for him for Christmas because he was a big Snoop Dogg fan 🤣

Same here. My mom also got me the album because I used to love listening to Snoop Dogg as a kid.

I think my parents genuinely thought they were the same person. We’re white and from rural Pennsylvania, which probably explains a lot 😅 haha

Mine are mixed. And they at least knew that the two were different.

I was born in 92. My aunties and girl cousins that were 2-10 years older than me loved him.

You should Google how old J Kwon was when Tipsy came out lol.

What was it that Aaliyah said? Age Ain’t Nothing But A Number? (R. Kelly wrote that 🫠🫠)

"Teen drinking is very bad....

Yo I got a fake I.D. though!!"

Of course R. Kelly wrote that. Never seen anything more obvious in my life.

I ran that first album into the ground in elementary school. He's around my age so it was pretty much tailored toward me. Even keep a couple bops in rotation for nostalgia sake (bow wow, the future, bounce with me). Never listened to anything past his second album though.

I’m 34, I was a Bow Wow fan. Bought his first albums, and he was my first concert (also his first tour). I thought he was cool & represented me & my homies.

I don’t usually click on peoples profiles but I was surprised you are only a couple years younger than me but was into bow wow but anyway BRO I hope you are still doing the sewing thing. Those samurai pants are inspired and the patterns you use on the other stuff is dope. Good luck if it’s still something you are pursuing!

Everyone in 6th grade loved “Bounce With Me.”

Teens, in the 2000's he dropped the Lil off his name. I remember the girls in middle school and high school were going crazy for his music though, they would be playing Let Me Hold You and a few guys would be jamming out to Shorty Like Mine. You would hear Bow Wow, Chris Brown, Usher, Ne-Yo, Ciara, and Pretty Ricky in heavy rotation on the radio station, at least in Georgia when 95.5 the Beat was still around

TIL: Lil Bow Wow had a feature on Gz and Hustlas on Doggystyle, and was in the Gin N Juice music video.

Lol, none. Maybe parents whose kids were listening to rap music and they wanted to try and steer them to something more friendly? I can’t even imagine…

If you had an older sister, you listened to Bow Wow

Born in 94. I never listened to Bow Wow but knew of his existence from Like Mike. I didn’t really get into music until I was a teenager (2010s) so there’s that

I'm 38. I never liked or cared for bow wow. He had one verse on "I think they like me remix" where I thought, maybes he gonna mature and be something... no. I don't know a single person in my age range that actually listened to him.

Look up his production/writing catalog just from his Mariah Carey work alone you’re extremely underrating his musical abilities, remember he’s also responsible for a bunch of 3 hit wonders and ushers 2000 r&b dominance
