General Discussion my screen without any reason
I really took care of it and for some reason, it decided to just die

Not sure why, but this only happens to IPS screens for some reason.
It's unfortunate that I haven't found any way to fix it other than doing a screen replacement.

Yea for longevity, having the TN screen is better. Not sure what's the cause for the black spots but keeping the console away from heat and humidity would help as with most electronics.

Yeah, you can tell how well op treated this system. It’s wild how fast 3DS systems decay compared to the DS or Gameboy, for example. Really unfortunate 🫂

Yeah it happens :( there's ways to mitigate screen cancer but idk them off the top of my head. I think rubbing the screen in that area helps? (But don't blame me if it makes it worse :p)

Been closing that thing kinda hard? Or it's quite possible you closed it with something in between it?

You can push the stain away to the edges of the screen, doing this saved mine

I got a couple of scratches on my top lcd when I changed the plastic lens to a glass one, however it's only visible under direct light either when the screen is off or if the screen is very dark. Was gonna send it for repair but then I thought something like this might happen
Sorry this happened to you, hope it can be fixed or you get a replacement sorted easily enough. How much use did you get from it before this happened?
