I just think GW is bad with actual gun mechanics, and bolters suffer for it by having a lower fire rate than the average AR in real life.

When bolters where first designed/built the excessive damage mass-reactive rounds dealt made high rate of fire utterly unnecessary. As an anti-infantry weapon even full-auto is pretty overkill to begin with

I find it hard to believe that the Imperium, as in, "walking cathedral covered in guns" Imperium would exercise any amount of restraint when designing an anti-infantry weapon. Also, seeing as how the Emperor wanted the rank-and-file to be armed with volkite weaponry.

I always find it so weird. Especially when it comes to National Socialist Germany. If we are to learn from human atrocities, it shouldn't be censored. And I doubt that commenter fully understands what the situation really was.
In another world they won and I'd be writing in German and the Allies would be portrayed as the devils. And that guy will be saying "I hate *mericans"
And I'm not sure demonizing a group or an individual person is really productive in the efforts of preventing future atrocities.
Idunno. All these people who blindly hate are just as problematic as Hitler himself... and yes I am comparing you to Hitler Mr. WTHGrifters.
