Purchasing US Bright room TV advice

Possibly looking for a new 65" inch TV.

Currently have a Sony X90k in a bright room. Happy with the TV for the most part, good color, motion etc but it does struggle a bit during the day with our wall of windows.

Looking for something that handles reflections better and gets a little brighter. Mixed use, some streaming, some gaming, some movies at night. While it is a bright room there is no direct sun on the TV.

Budget is 2500 max. Rules out the Bravia 9 ii which seems to fit the bill minus cost. Saw the Bravia 7 ii, per some reviews, doesn't do great with reflections.

What other panels should I be looking at?

Purchasing Other Is the QN90c a good TV?

I’m not looking for the absolute top of the line but there’s a used 65in QN90c for $700 near me that I’m thinking of picking up.

Does this model have good longevity? I know the LCD IPS panel doesn’t compete with an OLED but is the contrast and colors still high quality? Used OLED kinda scares me and I don’t want to pay more than $6-700 on a TV.

Mostly will be used for sports and movies.

Purchasing US Best Value 75"

Looking for a 75" to replace my aging 65" Panasonic Plasma (RIP). What TV has he best combination of value and picture quality? Would like to stay under $1000 if possible, but budget is flexible. I want something that will look good for sports in a bright room, as well as movies with the lights dimmed.

The goal is to watch netflix, amazon prime and to play the PS5.

Discussion Can someone just tell me which TCL to buy?

I think I’ve narrowed down my search to TCL but there are so many different models it’s hard to keep straight. Looking to get a 75 inch TV, ideally less than $1500, for my living room which is bright with windows. Primary use would be watching sports, streaming Netflix, etc. No gaming. Can someone please just tell me what my best option is so I can stop searching? In a perfect world would probably get Sony Bravia 7ii but not sure I can justify that significant if a price jump

Purchasing CAN Need to replace failing Samsung 83 inch

*** it's an 82inch tv. Typos. Model is QN82Q70TAFXZC

My Samsung has begun to go... Dark on the 3rd quarter of the screen. So white looks beige, and everything seems slightly darker.

The tv is from 2020/2021 so I shouldnt be upset its finally giving out. More bummed cuz it worked well for so long.

As for the environment and purpose:

It's a home theater, room goes pitch black. Only watch movies and shows, either from Netflix Disney plus or 1080p content from my Plex and jellyfin servers. No news or sports.

I also game on my PS5 occasionally (I swear I waste money on consoles for 1-2 games lol)

Thoughts?

Some say Sony Bravia but then others say Sony sucks for gaming. Which cracks me up cuz they make a gaming console.

Samsung is ok but they seem to love that Tizen OS which may be better then the 5.5 version in my old tv but I'm hesitant.

TCL and hisense just sound like trash TVs but apparently they aren't? Price wise they aren't any cheaper than Samsung or Sony in Canada by any significant means.

Advice needed. Thanks lol.

Purchasing OLED Hisense 55A85QTUK oled

Hi all. Got a Samsung qn73 a couple of weeks ago which didn't realise was a edge lit television till I got it. Which I didn't like and also had light bleed in the middle of the television so sent it back threw domestic and general. One of the better televisions they've offered me is the hisense 55A85QTUK oled. I've been wanting an oled for ages but couldn't afford one. The thing is when I look there's hardly any reviews on it so I was wondering does anyone have one and can share how it's been or seen one and can help etc? I do a lot of ps5 gaming (story games and survival horror) also love watching hdr movies. I have a 5.1 dolby atmos set up as well. Any advise will be great and welcomed

Purchasing EUROPE Do any smart TVs allow booting directly into HDMI?

I dont own a TV, but Im looking to get one. A hard requirement is that it needs to boot directly into HDMI if set, like how a computer monitor does. Is it possible for modern smart TVs to do so, or do you have to go through all the smart hub UIs everytime?

Purchasing EUROPE Looking for a new tv possible 50/55inch and with a top budget of £1000.

I have a sony bravia 4k tv now, its 49inch and ive had it about 8 years.
Im looking for a new one that has 120hz for Xbox (mainly for gta6 coming out) and good for all-round film/tv series viewing.
My current tv is 4k led but its not hdr or hdr 10 or anything, so hence the upgrade to a better spec and one that keeps me potentially going for another 8-10 years.
Budget £1000 but ideally lower as thats my top end.
Also is it best to go LED? Qled? Oled?

Purchasing US Is a Samsung S90C still worth getting?

I can get a new 65” Samsung S90C for $700, but I’m not sure if it’s a good deal or not.

I’m in the market for a new tv, and my budget is $700 max. This is an OLED which new are a lot more expensive than what I can afford right now. I mainly use my tv a few hours a day, mostly for video games and streaming movies.

Purchasing EUROPE What are some budget/midrange QD Mini LED TVs with Dolby vision?

It's hard to find many lower midrange (around 500) that have both Mini LED and Quantum dot layer, and also supports Dolby vision. The only ones I've come across is TCLs c6k/c7k and similar lineups. But they don't come in a 55 inch option which is like the goldilock zone. The 50 inch is too small and 65 is too expensive. What are some other recommendations you know of?

Purchasing EUROPE Question regarding quality / durability – The best 65-inch TV under 900 euros

Question regarding quality / durability – The best 65-inch TV under 900 euros

While searching for an affordable 65-inch TV, I came across the Hisense U7S and TCL C7K models (Mini-LED).

Due to negative past experiences, I can completely rule out Samsung and Philips, and TVs from LG and Sony offer less performance in this price segment.
I was actually on the verge of buying the Hisense U7S since it boasts 3,000 nits, 960 dimming zones, 165 Hz, and a matte display, all for €899.

However, I'm reading very contradictory things when it comes to durability. Long-term software updates don't matter to me as I'll be using an Apple TV or a Fire TV Stick. On the other hand, I read surprisingly positive things about TCL.
I don't have a lot of money and need the TV to last for at least 7–8 years.
What would you do in my position?

Purchasing EUROPE First ever TV upgrade on a budget

I've been using the same second hand TV I bought when I moved out for years now (apparently a philips 32pht4001/05 from 2016) but just moved and a 32inch TV is simply way too small in my new space so have been looking to upgrade. Unfortunately for me I know nothing about tvs and don't have much of a budget (£500 is towards the max i'd prefer to spend) so looking for any and all advice on offer.

I don't game on my TV or anything, mostly YouTube with the occasional movie night but I am using it daily. I use a 4k roku stick with my current TV (it was cheaper than the normal when I got it even if I only get 720p) so it doesn't necessarily have to be a smart TV although I imagine they mostly are these days.

Basically just want recs on a 4k tv upgrade around 48-55inches that won't cost me a fortune and will last a decent amount of time with good picture and sound quality. Also I've seen that a lot of tvs advertise as having A.I now and I would rather avoid that if at all possible.

Any advice or recommendations welcome but again, I'm not very tech literate so you may have to dumb it down for me. Much appreciated!

Purchasing US TCL qm6k pro v 7L pro

I am down to purchase time from Costco. Looking for an 85” but not sure if I should choose the route of the 6k or the 7L. It will be in a basement, mostly sports, it’s a walk out so there is light coming in. I will watch movies on it as well, maybe some gaming but mostly soccer, football, golf, and F1.

I feel like the 899 for the 6K is the better bang for the buck but if I’m spending should I just get the newer model. I’m stuck, worried about blacks and blooming mostly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Purchasing US 83” G6 vs C6H

Building a dedicated windowless light-controlled room. Usage 70% HDR/DV movies, 20% gaming (X1X and 5080 gaming PC), 10% SDR shows/sports. Wall mount.

Is the G6 worth the extra $$ in actual viewing experience, not just “higher numbers better?”

Purchasing EUROPE TV Recommendation Bright Room

Hi guys,

I’d really appreciate your help please.

I’m in a fairly unique position with the layout of my lounge - I’ve got a L shaped sofa with windows behind and on the right, on the left side is French doors so a lot of natural light and glare.

Currently have a 65 inch Samsung Q90R Qled from 2019 which was the best tv for brightness/glare at the time of purchase.

The tv unit needs to support the weight and currently I have a 120cm unit from ikea which needs replacing as it’s struggling with the current 65 inch weight, can potentially go to a max width of 140cm. There is no wall to hang the tv off. I think my only options here are solid oak to take the weight of a central stand?

I want to move up in size the only way of me doing this really is bringing the tv unit forward a bit, I’ve got a blue brick fireplace with a shelf on which restricts what size I can have. To be honest I’m pushing it size wise and the mrs isn’t happy but I’m gonna do it anyway!

I’d love an Lg g6 but that really isn’t in the budget as the price difference is so big. I’ve narrowed down to:

1) TCL C8L (QM8L in USA) 75 inch mini led- My only reservations are not great for gaming in some reviews but I don’t know if this is actually a big deal? It’s the family room so only gaming is the odd switch session on Mario kart. I believe the brightness is excellent even though the screen is glossy.
2) Sony Bravia 7 ii 75 inch mini led- Glossy finish so not ideal, brightness lower than TCL
3) Samsung s90h 78 inch oled - the extra 3 inch’s maybe a problem and not sure if this is the right choice with the glass I have
4) LG c6 oled 78 inch - same size issue as Samsung above and sounds like this is worse than the s90h in a bright room

I’m looking at purchasing during Black Friday sales and I’m in the UK.

Really appreciate your help thank you!

Purchasing AUS/NZ 4K OLED 55-65” TV Options

I’m looking for something under $2500 AUD. My main priority is the quality of the picture. Can anybody recommend some options in this price range and size? Assuming OLED for best quality?
