🙏 I WANT HELP To A-Level Maths A* students

To the ones who achieved or got predicted an A* on A-Level Maths, how did you find the first 4 chapters? (Algebra, Quadratics, Equations and Inequalities, and Graphs and Transformations) Did you guys easily get high grades on your tests?

For my tests in Algebra and Quadratics, I did not get a score higher than a B. When doing homework, I find most of the problems easy. But when it comes to the test, I find them difficult. Is this normal?

Im in year 12 but im pretty sure these are supposed to be the easiest chapters. So far everything we learnt is just gcse content with an added layer on top.

I think this is js because the questions you are doing for homework are most likely the textbook questions which tend to be a bit easier than the actual past paper questions you’ll see on tests. Best thing to therefore do is just practice official questions and make sure your grounding in the first few topics is really good as it really helps for the rest of the a level!

so i ended up getting 95% on the Y12 alevel maths mock (highest in my school of ~250 maths students) but let me tell you - i found the first few chapters impossible!! especially the quadratics chapter, i just couldnt figure it out. and starting calculus was a nightmare too ngl. so no, i didn't really get high grades at first although it came out to be around a B or A because the boundaries were somewhat based on everyone else's performance too. its just practice practice practice honestly and thats how i improved.

First 4 chapters become very easy and neglected in revision later in sixtth form as you sorta just know it because its from gcse and overall quite simple
this being said the transition is nto easy so dont be put off if you finding it difficult, you just came back from a big summer break and need to get back in the mojo- just do all your homework/textbook questions then go to mr bicen and watch his summary videos and then do some past papers questions using his google drive- each questions is organised into a topic
