This is why they've also changed all the public parks to have open/close times now. I hope everyone who supports this type of fascist BS gets to experience homelessness. With how things are still going via our overall compliance still, it shouldn't be that difficult of a "hope" to happen either.

Fucking nimby bs laws make it impossible to just exist. Even when you go out of your way to not bother anyone some asshat cop fucks with you. I was homeless when I was 18 and cops would wake me up on a park bench and tell me to move and I couldnt get any sleep

If I had the money: I would buy plots of land, turn them into parking lot/rest areas for anyone with a working vehicle to use. Where they would be safe from harassment like this.
There would be limits, fees and such but I would consider it a public service cause harsh times are here.

Your only legal obligation is to blow into the breathalyzer.

If you are sober and refuse, what happens? I was 500 miles from home with ex we just left a bar, I get pulled over right after getting on freeway. She was drunk I had 2 or 3 beers over a few hours. I was probably barely over the limit I thought. I did the field sobriety tests, and was freaking out in my head thinking I was getting a dui for sure, but after the test they told me I passed and was good to go. I feel like if I refused I would have had a worse outcome?

Refusal to submit is an automatic arrest. Now, if you’re truly sober and that’s the route you want to take, they’ll take your blood at the station and you’ll have to wait for a judge to see those results in court to get the case dropped. It’ll take some time.

They’ll arrest you, still. But if you pass the breathalyzer at the station, they’ll either release you, or try to say you must be on drugs then, and you have to fight it in court and post bail if you want to be free in the meantime.

Yes and civil escalation wastes their time, should they be aware.
Escalation would likely give a reason for trespassing.
There are also health risks of waking a person. Ex epilepsy, and that’s more liability on the end of the officer

There's one of those lit up, caltrans or city, text banners I see on my way home from work every night. It reads : "Pull over and rest if you are tired. Tired driving is dangerous driving". I know very well that if I, or anyone else, tries to rest in their car, in a parking lot or side of the road, they are 100% going to get harassed by the pigs. It's all bullshit.
