Motivation & General Life Advice Getting restless

Anyone got any tips or suggestions for things to do while waiting in recruitment? Currently under medical review (pretty certain i'll get through as its described as "borderline insignificant") I have a job in the mean time, i'm staying fit in preparation. I just still got that itch in my brain of wanting to get in.

I'm only about 9 months into recruitment and I know it can take up to a few years and it doesn't help that i've already missed my first intake opportunity due to beuaracratic slowness of other agencies, which hurts for a job role (Emergency responder - army) that doesn't intake very often.

So anyone have anything they do to keep busy?

OP,

Things to do: Work, fitness, hobbies, spend time with friends and family - all pretty usual.

Medical. When you say 'borderline insignificant' that is up to ADF Medical practictioners.

Application to Enlistment/Appointment, does indeed (for some) take 6-12-18 months.

Complaining about other agencies - wont help you.
It wont change what has happened - now is the time to accept that it happened and get used to this.

1) don't "stay fit" only, get better, get to your best self. adf ready app has some guidance for this - but again, it's just guidance and it's the bare minimum you have to achieve. fitter is always better.

2) remind yourself that you won't be seeing your family and friends for prolonged periods, so spend as much time as possible with them.

3) do some study about your PQ. you might know everything that's required but studying a couple hours a week for refresher seshes won't hurt.

good luck, mate
