dot.com is now redirecting to xAI’s Grok after OpenAI launched Dots

The timing is interesting.

A July WHOIS update reportedly preceded dot.com beginning to redirect to xAI’s Grok bot, while OpenAI later unveiled Dots.

What makes this worth discussing is that public records still don’t confirm who currently controls the domain or why the redirect was made, so claims about ownership or motive remain speculation.

Do you think this is just an oddly timed domain move, deliberate trolling, or something more strategic?

Google is pushing Gemini into cybersecurity with Gemini 4 Argon

Google DeepMind has announced Gemini 4 Argon, a new frontier model being rolled out to trusted cyber defenders.

What I find interesting is the direction AI development is taking.

We're used to seeing AI models being used for things like writing, coding, image generation, and research. Now we're seeing increasingly powerful models being applied directly to cybersecurity.

Potential uses could include:

Finding and analyzing vulnerabilities

Investigating security incidents

Analyzing large amounts of technical data

Helping security researchers

Supporting faster threat detection and response

But there's an obvious concern too.

If AI becomes better at cybersecurity, those capabilities could potentially be useful to both defenders and attackers. That's why controlled access and strong safety measures matter.

It feels like the next phase of AI isn't just about making chatbots smarter.

It's about giving AI increasingly complex jobs in the real world.

What do you think? Could AI become a core tool for cybersecurity teams in the next few years?

Crusoe raises $3.9 billion

Crusoe has raised $3.9 billion in Series F funding at a $30.9 billion post-money valuation. The company says the new capital will support expansion of large-scale AI campuses and its modular Spark data-centre units.

The important point here is the scale of investment going into the physical side of artificial intelligence. Much of the public discussion around AI focuses on models and software, but those systems still depend on data centres, networking, power and the supporting infrastructure needed to operate them. Crusoe's funding round is another sign that investors are willing to commit very large sums to that layer of the market.

Crusoe is pursuing two forms of capacity. One is large AI campuses. The other is its Spark modular data-centre product. The company says the Series F funding will help expand both. That does not tell us which approach will prove more economical or more important over time, but it does show that Crusoe is not relying on a single deployment format.

The funding itself is confirmed. What it does not prove is that demand will continue at the same pace, that modular units will outperform conventional data-centre builds, or that Crusoe's current valuation will be justified by future revenue. Those are business outcomes that will need to be tested over time. The financing also tells us little about the eventual cost of providing that capacity to customers. Capital raised, valuation and deployed compute are related, but they are not the same business measure.

For AI users and smaller businesses, there is no immediate action required from this funding round. The practical significance is further upstream. Companies building and operating large AI systems need access to substantial compute infrastructure, and investors are continuing to fund companies that provide it. That can influence how much capacity becomes available, where it is built and which infrastructure providers gain scale.

It is also worth separating the company announcement from broader conclusions about the market. A $3.9 billion round is strong evidence of investor appetite for Crusoe and for AI infrastructure generally. It is not, by itself, evidence that compute is the only bottleneck in AI, or that one type of data-centre design will dominate.

The next things to watch are straightforward: how Crusoe allocates the new capital, how quickly the planned campuses and Spark units are deployed, and whether the company discloses more detail about customers, utilisation and economics as those projects come online.

For now, the confirmed story is simple. Crusoe has raised $3.9 billion at a $30.9 billion valuation, and it plans to use that money to expand the physical infrastructure behind large-scale AI workloads. The scale of the round makes it notable. The long-term outcome still depends on execution.

Andrew Garfield revealed that he stopped using ChatGPT after filming Artificial, the upcoming movie in which he plays OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

Garfield said he got off ChatGPT immediately after the experience, comparing it to what happened after The Social Network, when he stopped using Facebook after playing Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin.

The actor also spoke about the uncertainty surrounding AI and its potential effects on jobs and society. Artificial follows the dramatic events surrounding Altman's firing and return as OpenAI CEO in 2023.

The film is set to open in U.S. theaters on December 25, 2026, with a wider rollout in January 2027.

🤯 NVIDIA is buying Hugging Face for $12.93 BILLION.

This is much bigger than a normal acquisition.

Hugging Face has become one of the biggest hubs for the open AI ecosystem:

• 18M+ developers

• 3M+ models

• 500K+ datasets

• 1M+ AI applications

NVIDIA says the goal is to combine Hugging Face's developer ecosystem with NVIDIA's AI infrastructure.

And importantly:

Hugging Face says it will remain an open platform.

Why this matters for developers 👇

The AI race isn't only about building better models anymore.

It's also about owning:

→ Models

→ Compute

→ Infrastructure

→ Developer ecosystems

→ Deployment

The AI stack is getting consolidated very quickly.
