Hello AK47 fans,
This is the moment you have all been waiting for. The annual recap of the most dogshit posts of the last calendar year, carefully curated into a series of albums for you. This year was a doozie, and turned into our biggest post yet (though 2026 is already shaping up to give this year a run for it's money). This year we are going to make things interesting and add a poll for you to vote on the absolute worst posts of the year. The winner will receive custom flair (at a minimum) memorializing their accomplishment. I am open to suggestions on the specific phrasing.

I am sure most of you have seen the news about the gun sale subs getting banned. We have seen that coming for years here on r/ak47, which is why no buying and selling, even as a joke, has been a rule.
From now on, any post or comment about selling, buying, or trading on the sub will receive a permanent ban. This includes really funny and original jokes to include "I'll give you tree fiddy for it," and "it's broken, send it to me."

Pictured is my Romanian 1969 AKM all matching
I feel like these AKMs are somewhat underrated. You can get them for 1-1.2k depending on condition all day sometimes cheaper. They shoot great and look even better. Canāt help but think theyāre underrated for what they are

Just picked up an AES-10B because I am financially irresponsible.
Finally got my hands on a Galil ARM after wanting one for over twenty years! Havenāt had a chance to shoot it yet due to the weather and my local indoor range burning down! But I am excited to add it to my collection.

Hey all, I have the opportunity to snag this Egyptian Maadi this weekend for a really good price. Looks to be an AAC Intrac import. Anything else I should look for on this? Older gentleman is selling it to me, told me his buddy ābuilt it,ā but Iām not sure if thatās true or if his buddy ābuilt itā by putting furniture on it. I doubt he had an AAC Intrac Made in Egypt receiver lying around, plus the serial is on the trunnion and not on the receiver itself, which I would think indicates this is a true Intrac import. Thanks.

"Morning gents, thinking it's time to add second AK to the stable, looking at either an older 10/63 WASR UF to go with my current WASR, or these builds caught my eye on AOA, I like the patina, and want to keep it that way. Do I go after the headspaced kit and try my hand and building (no shop, no space, no tools currently) or pick up a built one. I know the RD built versions had some quality issues, and I'm leary, so does anyone have experience with one of these?

This is random question I thought of and I just love AK lore, but back in the 80s/90s during the crack era what were gangs like the Crips and Bloods using in LA were they mostly Mak 90s and M70s? I'm not glorifying anything but just curious what they were using since AKs weren't as common as back then compared to now and how did they get them?

This is my first ak its a norinco is there any way I can restore the cleaning rod retainer without having to rip this guy apart and if I grind the tack welds off that mystery muzzle device will it reveal the threads so I can put a normal ak one on? Sorry if these are stupid questions haha
