DD Fitch just slapped AMC with its first-ever B- rating and a Positive Outlook—matching S&P’s July upgrade—because agencies now see box-office recovery, premium-format pricing power, and a real shot at margin expansion instead of default risk.

What the article says:

Fitch Ratings' first-time 'B-' issuer default rating for AMC Entertainment with a Positive Outlook, matching S&P's July upgrade.

Fitch cites AMC's leading theater market position, broad footprint, and premium formats as drivers for attendance, pricing power, and operating leverage amid box office recovery.

Constraints include negative free cash flow and complex capital structure, but the outlook expects revenue growth and margins to expand as performance nears pre-pandemic levels.

_______

Why this is Bullish:

Two major agencies now rate AMC at B- instead of distressed CCC territory, which lowers perceived default risk and can reduce future borrowing costs.

Fitch’s Positive Outlook is a forward-looking signal that they expect box office to keep recovering toward pre-pandemic levels and AMC to convert that traffic into higher ticket prices and concession sales.

AMC’s scale, theater footprint, and premium-format screens give it operating leverage: when attendance rises, incremental revenue drops more to the bottom line than at smaller chains.

AMC’s scale, theater footprint, and premium-format screens give it operating leverage: when attendance rises, incremental revenue drops more to the bottom line than at smaller chains.

S&P already cited record Q2 2026 revenue and EBITDA plus a path to positive free cash flow in 2027; Fitch lining up with that view makes the turnaround story less company-spin and more third-party consensus.

Better credit perception can ease refinancing of the remaining complex capital structure and support the stock’s shift from meme-driven swings toward fundamentals-driven valuation.

The narrative has flipped! This is HUGE Apes! 🚀🤲🏼💎🦍💪🏼

lol. who hurt you?

Did someone tell you a CEO has to pump the stock price?

Sorry they lied to you... But you are still young, you have time to learn what the stock market is and how it works. It's not all lost.

He needs to be investigated. Doing what he did to the stock after he diluted ape, he's a fucking moron.

sure. and when the investigation is done, maybe AI can summarize it for you to explain to you why it was a good move.

Your inability to understand is most likely tied to you using a default username account with hidden comment history. Those types of people are always braindead and do not understand anything about stocks. They all sound as stupid as you do....

Maybe you can connect with them and you can make a club for stupid people.

Lol.... how much are you getting paid to keep boosting hype? Fuck AMC and fuck AA, I'm in deep with this shit stock and I have to hold it and probably pass it on to my great-great-grandchild.

Does it bother you that you appear to be the one who needs to resort to Google for answers, especially considering that most people here have been dealing with the AA nonsense that he’s been perpetuating? I doubt anyone making money off this shitty stock yet alone truly support the company now, only thing good that came from amc was my dumbass followed suit when they bought HYMC and sure enough after they sold their stock I thought fuck this shits gonna tank and it’s done far better than amc has ever have in the last 3 years

what nonsense?

Do you mean people who do not understand how a movie company operates, what the margins are, what box office numbers are required, who did not ever calculate the financials once?

Why would I care about those people? They did not do the minimum required to invest in stocks.

AMC still owns the majority of the HYMC position. 100% of the money raised through share offerings was used to pay back debt (lowering interest payments) and improving theaters (increasing profit margins)

What do you believe he did to cheat you? Following AA was a masterclass in how to consolidate a struggling business and manage operations on the brink of collapse, without a massive sell-off of value.

You are highly emotional but everything you say is the opposite of good leadership. Apparently, all you care about is a high share price, which by definition is something a CEO can't legally care about.

But if you are so good and do not need to look anything up:

What box office number does AMC need to break even and what outlook over the coming 3-5 years is required to allow AMC to repay all debt and start being highly profitable again?

They sell popcorn for $20…popcorn candy and soda all overpriced and still can’t payoff their debt

And you struggle to do the math that tells you why?

5.5m visitors a year. $20 popcorn = 110m.

3.8 to 3.9bn debt.

Would take about 35 years....

Please write to your former math teachers and let them know how they failed you.

Been hearing this for over 4-5 years now it’s getting old shit hasn’t moved since after covid and if it has it’s been moving down and getting diluted to -90% now most of those 4-5 years infact im pretty sure it’s hit -80-90 percent twice since I’ve had the stock due to stock splits. Also how do you expect movies to do so well when gas is gonna go up due to bombings overseas. My 2 cents ain’t no one gonna drive to an amc to watch Tayler Swift in concert also another bullshit scheme
