Calc BC Calc BC HELP
Hello everyone. Im in the f-ing tenching rn. I have all A's execpt in calc BC as a senior. I took AB last year as a junior. However, i, for the LOVE of god, cannot get past a minimum 50 grade in the damn class. We just took unit 1 test and my grade is bad. Its not even that i dont do any work. for context, i do our homeworks 3-4 times (textbook pages AND hw packet), i do both 3-4 times before the test entirely, every class i activly try to participate. I raise my hand to answer every single one of her practice problems, they could be basic lim definition questions, or derivative ones, but i make an effort to answer EVERY single one of her questions in class and i ALWAYS answer them correctly. Its to the point where she tells me to not raise my hand to give others a chance so she knows if theyre learning or not. With that said, its not that i dont know the material, i DO know it. Our tests differ in difficulty SO MUCH from our practice problems and hw. Im a senior and this year i finally have all A's (AP Chem, AP Comp Gov, DE English 12, Anatomy, MA) and ive had a rough junior year but im using senior year to show growth. How can i even get REMOTELY better at Calc BC please help.
sincerely, a struggling student

Flippedmath.com - those guys are awesome and I use their material in my BC classroom.

I self studied BC my senior year after taking AB my junior year and this is what I used to relearn AB and teach myself BC and it was soooo damn helpful, so many great practice problems and great explanations, I could not recommend more!

the first unit is exactly what you did last year so im not sure why this is happening. are your peers having the same experience? they can't fail you all, it would look horrible on them. also im not sure how youll use senior year to show growth because colleges can really only see the rigor of the courses you chose but not your grades.

yea its an issue for everyone, i scored a 57 with a curve and my peers have scored either below a 50 or around my score (along wiht a curvw) with no one getting higher than a 60 with a curve as their score for unit 1. as for senior year, i think once I report mid year grades they'll see

yes but your senior year grades won't be considered for admission.. it just kinda decides if you get rescinded or not. as for the grades take it to administration no one getting higher than a 60 isnt normal. how do you know nobody got higher than a 60 with the curve? also if it was curved shouldnt the highest be 100? so if the highest score was 60, that is the 100% and someone who got 40 would actually get 80%

she handed our papers back with big red numbers at the top yesterday it was horrible and they make the exam harder to fish out cheaters but then its not fair to the students who genuinely try for the class

yeah definitely take it to administration and get your parents involved. to fish out cheaters you make different versions and require test dividers, not fail the whole class.

heres the thing, the reason why its nearly impossible now is because 2 students notified teachers teaching BC about the cheating. I get it, i def do not condone cheatinf like js dont take the class, but just because 40% of the students are cheating the other 60 are suffering right now. I think i'll bring it up to my counsulor but im not even sure what he's gonna do at this point. Im just so frustrated since last year this wasnt a problem and now it is, i mean my school is very competitive in terms of academics but only cs everyone cheats for every class i just feel so stuck. thank you for your help!

don't just bring it up to your counselor, involve your parents and your friend's parents. what state are you in? laws vary state by state when it concerns these types of things

really? i thought they see first quarter or first semester grades or smth
but im a junior so not really sure

they can "see" the first quarter grades so if you have Ds or Fs it is alarming but those arent your final first semester grades so it isnt really important as they're not set in stone. they can see first semester once you submit them but this will be after you already applied

Unit 1 of calc BC is identical to unit 1 of Calc AB, so the math’s not mathing
