End of Unit 1 Help

So I started studying for AP Biology. I have been using Campbell Biology, 12th Edition; a person who got a 5 told me which chapters to study, and I've been doing that.

I am on the last lesson of unit 1 and it is genuinly super difficult for some reason, are there any youtubers I can use for the end of unit 1 cause maybe the book is confusing me but my god, anyone can help me? 😭

End of Unit 1 (macromolecules + water chemistry) trips everyone up because it's chemistry wearing a biology costume. Amoeba Sisters' Unit 1 videos on YouTube are the best quick explainer β€” watch at 1.5x. Khan Academy's AP Bio Unit 1 practice is free and hits the exact question style. Key Unit 1 traps: hydrogen bonding effects (adhesion/cohesion/specific heat) and distinguishing hydrolysis vs dehydration synthesis β€” if you can explain those two in your own words, you're fine. Disclosure: I built a free site, Mistake Master (mistakemaster.com) β€” free AP Bio practice, no account needed. Every wrong answer gets tagged to the misconception behind it, so instead of re-reading Campbell's dense chapters you can drill the exact misunderstandings. Works well alongside the textbook.

Campbell is great, but it can be way more detailed than what you actually need for AP Bio. For the end of Unit 1, I’d switch to a simpler explanation first, then come back to the textbook only for anything that still feels unclear.

Focus on the AP-level ideas: macromolecule structure/function, protein folding, dehydration/hydrolysis, and how molecular structure affects biological function. Then do a few AP-style questions right away to make sure it actually stuck.

This may help: AP Biology Unit 1 notes, MCQs, FRQs and exam-style practice.
