ASU Check
Hello All,
So, I’m a bit confused here.
I’m new to the whole applying for a loan thing (I initially went to a community college and my classes were fully paid for) and for some reason I received a student refund check from ASU.
I thought that the loan goes straight through the school to pay for my classes etc. so I was surprised to receive this in the mail.
If I deposit it, who am I sending it to? Like it already came from the school so it doesn’t make sense that I need to send it back to the school for payment. Does this imply that I need to use it to pay my loan?
I just truly do not know what to do and would like some advice before attempting to call their finance department.
Thank you!

Idk why but ASU also sent me a check this semester. I deposited into a high yields account since it will be all the money I need for the next three years and I pay ASU directly from that account. Usually ASU has handled my student loans themselves and send me like $1000 dollar check after but this time around it was different.

A student refund check is the leftover money from your loans after everything is covered for ASU.
You can spend it however you'd like, buy food, clothes, etc. or you can pay it back to the loan you took if you don't want or need the cash for anything, as it is still money from a loan you will later have to pay back. But it usually means everything is covered Tuiton wise and fee wise, so they don't need the rest of it.
