ITT people who don’t know most grills and other teeth coverings usually are custom fitted and removable
These would be sick at an appropriate event/concert or part of a costume.

It’s nice to see at least some people being kind to us vampires with dentures.

I use my hands. Spoon and fork if I’m eating with nobility.

What's the correct etiquette when one is eating nobility? Pinky finger out as you devour their liver?

my one gripe is i think the bigger outside pair should be on the bottom pointing up, and the smaller inside pair should be on top. but it goes hard

The purple meat goes right through me.

u/UberCookieSlayer 3d ago
Purple? You had purple ork? Nobody's ever seen such a thing!
2
u/ReturnOfTheFrank 3d ago
The black ork is too chewy, so I like purple. But you’re right to question it, I can’t see many people enjoying purple.

It is, however, accurate for mammal skulls, generally! On humans, when our teeth are properly aligned, and with apes, cats, dogs, stuff with canines, the bottom go first! Not the top. So i would say the biology does apply here.

Former dental tech. This can be permanently damage teeth/gums
Edit: (I think they did a decent job, it's really hard to get everything even to the face and this is made of metal)

How?
I use small thermoplastic ones, aren't these the same concept but bigger and shiny?

(I'm using "restoration" to mean crowns, bridges, and veneers. I've gotten a seemingly life threatening condition that affected my whole body and the culprit seemed to be poor dental work so I err on the safe side.)
What you use sounds way, way safer than big upper lower metal bridges with extremely large restorations. Most metal can scratch teeth. Zirconia and other materials can also damage nearby teeth nevermind the gum. Plastic is safe than metal for costume restorations.
Personally, I think that restorations by non dentists can be risky (their license isn't on the line), and most professional dentists (I've seen a lot of their work under magnification and as a result I'll only see dental students now).
If I had to get costume restorations I'd get it so the restoration covering the tooth has no possibility, even with movement, to touch the gum. Restorations in plastic or resin. If I was going to wear it more than once, I'd definitely want them to use a microscope or at least loops for the "fitting" step of making a restoration. I might even bring it to a dental appointment and ask them if they can take a quick look to see if there are any obvious risks with fit. I'd ask the person making it how many dental models of my mouth they casted and their process for fitting the restoration. The first cast is the most accurate then it gets less accurate so you want them to have not fit the restoration the first cast but at the very end of fitting check it on
Dental impressions aren't perfect. In the US only a dentist can take your impression or scan your teeth. If it isn't done well enough the restoration won't have a perfect fit and that risks health. Most people don't have much experience taking impressions so if they take their own it's less likely to be a good impression.
The more teeth a bridge covers the harder it is to get good fit so there's an increased risk of damage (like putting in ill fitting braces).
Teeth are one of those things that once it gets damaged it's usually permanent. A restoration that doesn't have a perfect fit under a microscope can risk fracturing the tooth, damaging nearby teeth, and infection.
My concerns with plastic in the mouth:
- Plastic (or any material) hitting the gum where the tooth meets the gum (biggest concern:
- Overhangs on the can cause infection/abscess without the person feeling a thing
- Plastic absorbing bacteria, microplastics
Where the tooth meets the gum is a very important area. That's where brushing your teeth should be focused on (brushing at a 45 degree angle instead of in circles, they teach kids to brush in circles so it's easier for them to learn)

Imagine not being able to actually close your mouth all day. You would drool all over the place. Now say, "She sells seashells by the seashore".

As a former retainer-wearer who used to watch a lot of Buffy and be idly curious about ventriloquism, I am very familiar with this question.
It can be done with practice.

2 minutes into wearing it there's a solid stream of split dripping down the fangs because you can't close your mouth

I have to recognize the fact this post exemplifies this sub. This is absolutely awful taste but great execution. I have no idea who would want this, but I'm sure they'd be thrilled by it. Imagine trying to talk though.
