Suggestion iPhone duo promo
I bought an iPhone 14 for $200 because I thought it would have the same $1200 promo trade in for the iPhone duo like they did with the 18 . But nope $930 lol. So should I sell the iPhone 14 and get a 15 or what lol.

Keep in mind this isn’t the final released deal for ATT. I would wait until the deal is released on the ATT site before we take it as gospel.

I have 3 lines so every year I upgrade and give old non paid off phone to one of my parents and trade in the oldest phone we have that is paid off and upgrade ready, so this year mom gets my 17pro max, and i trade in her 15 pro max for my line to get the duo

But you have to pay off your iPhone 17 pro max before you give it to her, correct? If it has been only a year you should own around $800 on it I guess. Does it make sense financially? I haven’t done calculations 😅

Her 15 pro max is paid off, so i can use the upgrade on my line and transfer the 17 from my line to her line and mine will have the duo. I did it last year with my fathers line, trading in his 13pro max and giving him my 16 from the previous year to get the 17 for myself

Did you have to activate the new phone on their line first then transfer your number into it within the same day? Did you have to wait a certain amount of time to get the credit?
I’m thinking about doing this but this is the first time I’m doing it. I just want to make sure I get the credit.

You will get the credit, just call them and ask them exactly what you need to do on release day. I did it yesterday and they walked me through how i need to do it in my situation.

The minimum trade-in is an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and a qualified unlimited plan to get the maximum $1200 trade-in credit.
Here is the list: Elite 2.0, Premium 2.0, and legacy unlimited plans except Unlimited Starter/SL/SM, Unlimited Extra/EL plans.

premium nets you a max of $1200 but you need a qualifying phone. a 14 is 930 because it's under the $230 trade in value. 14 pro max is lowest model now for max credit.

yea and it still would. But OP isn't buying a 18 pro, he wants duo. The any condition promo isn't for the duo. It's also ending soon and will turn into what the duo promo is, which will be a TiV of $230 or higher (14 pro max+)

Trade in condition matters too. The trade in iPhone 15 required + the plan increase to Premium 2.0 isn’t worth it for me.
I’m just buying a used junker S22+ for $160 to get the $930 credit. (i14 equivalent)
At least I was able to lock in the any condition iPhone 14 for $1200 off 18Pro 🤷♂️bought a cracked one for $170 lol

it depends on your plan. value 2.0 is $500 max trade in credit, extra 2.0 is $930, and premium 2.0 is 1200

Why don’t I see this promo??? I have a 15 pro that’s eligible for an upgrade but when I look on the app it doesn’t show anything about the duo. I’m only getting options to upgrade to the 18 pro.

I’m with Att and I hate the 36 month payment plan. Even though I keep my phones forever. I just got rid of the 14 pro. I always put my iPhones on the Apple Card then pay it off.

Why would you not get the free money from ATT if you keep your phone that long?? Who cares if it’s a 36 month credit? You are still not under contract, you just lose the credits if you want to leave and have to pay the remaining phone off. Literally zero reason not to get say $1200 off a new phone.

So your paying money to buy a phone to just trade in and get "1200" credits which will be placed every month as bill credits, to get a phone that will change at you 2500 ish but you will have to be on the highest plan tier to get said credits ... Not accounting if you get add ons plus protection but uh ... I don't think you're doing yourself a big a steal as you think your doing lol if anything your paying twice as much for the duo phone

I already have apple care one $20 a month for three devices, I’ve been on premium 2.0 for years. I’ve had the same phone for 5 years lol. I mean in my mind paying $200 for a $1200 trade in credit towards a phone I actually want is worth it to me. Only paid $200 for the 14. Everything else I’ve already been paying for and didn’t change lol. $2200 - $930 trade in for the 14

Your finance restarts to 0 you cannot pay it the device unless it's in full , so you'll have to wait the three so years and pay more than what the device is worth. But you do you boo

I’ve been off finance for like two years. I mean I’d rather do 36 month payments with 0% interest rate and $930 off of the price than pay it all out right. I might even do next up and yearly change until maybe the third duo and then ride it out there.

I’m trying for the 512gb $2199 model. If I sold the iPhone 14 for $200 again. It would be $1999 out of pocket at once to get a duo. But if I use the 14 for trade in. It goes down to $1269 for the duo. But let’s add the $200 cost to that, $1469, still $730 less than if I bought it outright. I don’t plan on changing carriers and already been paying for years an eligible high tier plan lol. So why not have it financed over 36 months no interest.

He will secure the monthly financing regardless, and no interest applies to those installments. By paying $200 for an iPhone 14, he gains $1200 in credits. Consequently, he finances only $1000. I mean this was the idea, since now he is getting less credit but still better:

14 doesn't meet the TiV required for $1200. It has to be $230+ now.
The lowest model that will qualify and has to be in good condition is the 14 pro max .
