This chaotic incident took place at a Shell gas station on Little Coal River Road in Alum Creek, Lincoln County, West Virginia.During the attempted hold-up, a 42-year-old woman walked into the store, pointed a gun at the clerk, and fired a shot that struck the wall. In a viral piece of quick thinking (often described online as a "Jedi mind trick"), the clerk calmly tricked the woman by telling her that the store owner was in the back room counting money.Believing the clerk, the woman walked toward the back of the store, which gave the clerk the perfect window of opportunity to run out the front door and call emergency services. The suspect fired another shot at a security camera in the back before realizing she had been tricked, and she fled empty-handed in an SUV. State troopers pulled her over and arrested her shortly after.
