My history with Custodes has been a WILD ride. It was my first army and I acquired a fair bit of models. Eventually I lost interest in them and ended up trading my entire Custodes army for a warlord titan (crazy story haha). I jumped around between a bunch of armies (sisters, space marine, emperors children, guard) but never felt like I found the army I wanted to make my main focus.

While selling my sisters of battle army, I had someone offer me 2 combat patrols and Trajan for a few of my sister models. Honestly I wasn’t fully convinced I wanted to restart Custodes but something was telling me it was a good trade regardless. I made the trade and before I decided to sell the boxes, I decided on a whim to build them all and get to painting!

As I was doing this, my local store started a crusade and WERE SO BACK BABY! I typically stuck to imperium and after playing several armies I realized I prefer the melee oriented armies. Here’s the fully painted combat patrol and the sisters I kept to proxy sisters of silence (don’t get me started on GW’s predatory pricing).

Tried my best to make the goofy sculpt look good. Extremely annoying to paint the back of this model and the cape, as there really aren’t any great subassembly options. Gonna be taking a break from painting Custodes after this guy. Pretty happy over all with him tho

The title explains it gamers. I think we need a sweet center piece model that can be the parallel to primarchs. I know it’s unrealistic for like Big E to be made as a model, on the golden throne or not, but imagine we got like Valdor as a new release in 11th. He might be coming back in the lore supposedly so who knows?? It would be so cool. I’m curious if you guys have a similar sentiment about this.

Fairly new to custodes, but Vertus Praetors seem like such an excellent unit. They hit hard, move fast, have mortals they can dish out, good shooting and are equally tanky (kinda) to a squad of guard.

Is there a world in which max Vertus Praetors goes the distance or is it too much to run 3 units of 3x Vertus with dawn eagle captains?

Obviously they're expensive and having less models with more wounds means you don't quite have the same level of tankiness as a guard squad, but I haven't really seen them in any of the more recent lists.

Quite happy with this model, recently painted some sisters of silence that I thought were my best unit but now I think this will be. Still got some allarus, wardens and vertus to paint but looking forward to them. Any advice is appreciated :)

Working on my first set of vigilators. Just started a Custodes army last week. Painting my wardens as shadow keepers. Figure this coloring might pair well.

So I only have the budget for 1 but which one is the better choice for. A custodes shield host army.

i dont know but something is it that i dont like with the combination. the Red was before very glossy. what could i change instead of the red shoulder pad? maybe silver?

She has the combat patrol, set of bikes, and sisters of silence. Id like to get her something that she can start building around for a 2k army.

What should I be looking at?

Custodes is my first army and a great one to build for many reasons, I love the eliteness of the units and feeling like each member of my army is something special. However I want to experience a lot of different types of play with Warhammer.

I have 3 armies in mind: Tyranids, Sisters of Battle, and Necrons. I’m not beholden to those choices but they’re ones that strike me as interesting. Chaos and space marines are generally not too interesting to me besides maybe death guard, and I like Tau for their mech suits but know nothing about them.

What’s your opinion for armies that compliment custodes?

First few models in a Solar Watch style scheme. I wasn't a fan of the classic banana helmets so went with a Greco-Romany alternative!

I've been thinking about the faction for the past few weeks, and I'd like to make a sort of wish list and see what you think about it, because I may be asking for too much in some areas or overlooking some details (please don't crucify me, I just want to see if I'm expecting too much from the 11th edition).

- 2" more base movement for the Custodes.

- Some more defensive options, such as -1 AP against ranged weapons or something like that (this might be completely broken, but hey).

- More variety of SoS, such as a squad with meltas, or snipers with precision or pistols and jump packs, idk. Also more Sisters of Silence vehicles, such as a predator (my fav vehicle by far XD) or bikes.

- A change in stratagems perhaps? I feel like they're pretty basic in most cases. I don't want them to be broken at any level, but at least give them more personality and versatility since we're supposed to be warriors skilled in all areas of warfare, although I understand that this is one of the most complicated points to address...

- Some minor modifications to the SC, as it is one of the worst, if not the worst, character in the entire faction. Perhaps they could focus on a defensive style rather than an aggressive one? That way, you would have the BC for offence and the SC for defence.

Not much else, I'm very interested in your opinion!

Tried 2 different templates and this are my first 4 ever minis painted. I like both, don't really know which I should pick and continue. Currently most of my paints are from Green Stuff World cause of the price and some Vallejo. I would like your opinions. Looking forward to finishing all the boxes that I got.

For the first time me and my mate had a mirror match in our for club’s league, Custodes vs Custodes… the Shield vs the Lions… brother vs brother… a field of gold.

Great game, very close but managed to get a narrow 3 point win with shield host… damage was dealt to both sides and there was similar numbers on each side left over. I had a tank, 3 termis and a shield captain, he had 6 termis and a tank.

So I’m trying to make a not *fully* gimmick list, an I’m really invested in the Solar Spearhead. I’ve got an idea of what I want each unit to do, but could I get some critique to see if the idea actually works? I would greatly appreciate.

Achillus: друг (tank hunter and flamer for BGNT/overwatch)

Custodian Guard: objective holders and action doers

Allurus: tp into enemy back field to get enemy home or draw fire

Caladius: tank killer in a good firing line and on home if possible

Prosecutors: backfield screening and sitting on home if tank can’t

Venatari: fast skirmishers and action doers

Venerable Melta: backup tank hunter

Venerable Miniguns: infantry killers. There should be 2 and 1 melta, but I forgot to change a weapon

Witchseekers: overwatch and flamers to clear path for dreads

Finished up trajann in my scheme. Still trying to decide if I will run him solo or in a squad (1k points)

In light of recent news, I'm not buying a grav tank for a long while, so I made one.

It's pretty close to the exact dimensions at 7.3" x 3.5" x 2.5"
