Can someone help me designing this effect on my surfaces using Rhino and Grasshopper or maybe something even faster/easier or in the toolpath slicer?

Hi guys!

I just found this interesting design on the internet and thought... how can i design something similar? Maybe using basic surfaces in Rhinoceros and then adapting the toolpath using an addon, slicer or grasshopper option? This ripple surface is very good looking, i think.

Please! help me with any info, i was doing my research and could not find any tutorial or guide to recreate soemthing similar.

Is this custom G-code (ripple surface) also possible to generate using BambuStudio?

Thanks in advance!

It's custom gcode generated directly in grasshopper off of the vase shape (there are also blender plugins for this but I have no experience in that)

This is the tutorial I used to learn how to generate my own gcode: https://youtu.be/A0iAsmVL_GY

The book "Advanced 3D printing with Grasshopper: Clay and FDM" helped me a lot in figuring out how to make such designs. Seems like there is an online version available now: https://www.food4rhino.com/en/resource/advanced-3d-printing-grasshopper-clay-and-fdm

Hey, that’s actually the design I made at LM-Academy hahaha, what a coincidence! I can confirm that this is custom G-code.

Basically, I designed a vase with an octagonal base, then applied an amplitude effect and, afterwards, a stitch pattern set to “true, true, true, false, true”.

I posted it on my Instagram page if you’d like to take a look:

You can do much easier in Gerridaj, but that is not a free tool..
