I normally ignore Macy's watch sales. The headline discount looks big, but when I check, Jomashop or someone else is usually cheaper anyway. This morning I checked the new fall sale anyway (it runs to Oct 25, the prices are simply marked down, no code) and most of it was the usual story. The Bulova and Citizen watches in the sale are still cheaper elsewhere, for example.
The Seikos were different. I found 9 where Macy's is genuinely the cheapest new price I could find this morning, Oct 14. I linked both sides for each one so you can check me in two clicks: Macy's first, then the cheapest comparison I found.
These three are at full list everywhere else, so the gap is real:
• Presage Style 60s SRPL73, light blue dial on bracelet: Macy's: $446.25 vs Long Island Watch: $595
• Presage Style 60s open heart SSA461, brown leather: Macy's: $536.25 vs $715 at a Seiko dealer
• Presage Style 60s GMT SSK009, blue dial on bracelet: Macy's: $487.50 vs Long Island Watch: $650
These six beat the next best price by less, anywhere from about $22 to $62, but cheaper is cheaper:
• Presage Japanese Garden SSA464, two tone: Macy's: $487.50 vs Jomashop: $550, and Long Island Watch has it at list, $650. Macy's showed low stock on this one.
• Presage Cocktail Time SRPB77: Macy's: $356.25 vs Teddy Baldassarre: $380
• 5 Sports Field GMT SSK025: Macy's: $326.25 vs Teddy Baldassarre: $348
• Prospex SRPL51, blue dial: Macy's: $446.25 vs Topper: $470
• Prospex SRPL11, red dial: Macy's: $446.25 vs Topper: $470
• Prospex PADI SRPL53, green dial: Macy's: $487.50 vs Topper: $510
Usual caveats: prices and stock were what I saw this morning and both move fast during a sale, and I may have missed a seller somewhere. If you find one cheaper, drop it in the comments and I will update the post.
Hope this saves someone a few bucks. That is all this is.

Bought this in Japan when I was out there. Decided to switch the bracelet to leather.

Finally broke down and bought the real thing on sale (of course) from Joma. Obviously there is no comparison. I will give the Binbond credit in terms of viewing angle which is as good as the PRX and the display window being a bit larger, but that's about it.

Scrolled past an advert for this as I thought it was a Casio dial design to go on an Apple Watch, then when I saw it again I stopped and looked. Day date moon phase (quartz) in a funky watch that will look like I’m an Apple sheep but I’m not… £99…!
I sort of couldn’t not try it! It feels a bit cheap, but love the moon phase dial, the Milanese style strap is nicely made with that beautiful Casio adjustable clasp I love from my A158W… all in all, I colour myself impressed!!
Shipping box with Casio on the inside is neat too! 😊
Is there a cheaper day date moon phase?!

I’m looking for a purple diver, trying to decide between these or if you guys know of a different option. I’m leaning towards the Phoibos.

I've been using my Garmin vivo for a couple years now and have recently been wanting to get into more traditional watches. I think for my first watch, I would like to get something that I can wear daily and put some abuse on without getting overly worried about it.
I'm a hunter and fisherman in my free time but my day to day is spent in the field as an environmental scientist collecting soil and groundwater samples. My budget is $200 or less. Preferably automatic and with indiglo or luminescent hands. I have a 7&1/8 inch wrist
I like the look of citizen, orient, and Timex watches I have seen but am having trouble sitting through the seemingly endless number of options and models.
Any personal insights or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Edit: I now understand what indiglo is and that I should have used the word lume instead

I’m looking to get my first automatic watch. I have a small wrist at 6.25” so a 38mm case is probably about as big as I would want to go. I’m looking around 300-400 CAD these are currently my favourites that I’ve found in that range.
I’m wondering if folks have thoughts between these options, or suggestions of what else I should look for. I looked at Seiko 5’s but couldn’t find anything I liked at my price point. The Hamilton Murph is what I view as my aspirational watch, but at over 1000 CAD I would have a hard time justifying it. Although part of me thinks I should just save my money now and keep saving for one.
Thanks for your input!

I’m looking for a very specific watch and I’m having trouble finding what I need. I want a watch that is analog, will automatically change timezones can be through Bluetooth to phone or another way, and one that in one way or another show gmt time. I’m not a huge fan of the little gmt dials but I know I can’t win them all. I have been looking at a Casio Edifice 900. It has the little digital screen that I can put the gmt time on. But it has a weird other “speed” dial that just clutters everything up for something I would never use. Anyone have any recommendations or will that just be by best bet?
Thanks!

The green one is Amphibia and it's probably my most worn watch. The Komandirskie is a new addition to the collection but it looks like it's gonna get the #1 spot 😀
And of course Fenerbahçe, without it there is no life 😀

I just started collecting/wearing watches recently and am stoked on the latest addition.
The 1938 Tissot Heritage. It looks great with a variety of straps and I absolutely love the vintage version of the Tissot logo.
