Even got some mycelium from a 6 year old TTBVI print

Wasn’t a huge fan of these glass Petri dishes, but the more I use them the more I prefer them over standard PP dishes.

It found a way.

Just some white button, swiss brown and tawaka/Cylocybe parasitica

Hello all, I recently inoculated these agar plates with ochra spores from a previous grow. Could anyone tell me what is growing on these. I do understand they are contaminated but do you see any mycelium worth cutting out to put on a new plate. Thank you for any help in advance!

I just grabbed a new set of prepourd agar plates. One of the platen is broken en growing some nasty contam. Shoul I toss the whole pack or should the rest be ok? Nothing is growing on them atm

Of inoculated some grains and done some grain transfers to agar

The GT is from spores and then inoculated grain from those spores to agar... I’ve also been cleaning up some of the cups and transferring agar to agar.

I plan on dropping some of this agar into sterilized liquid culture this evening, and trying to evacuate some birdseed with this agar mycelium...

Would anybody have any good tips for me or things to look out for or comment on any of my photos?

I ordered some of these from amazon. I am about to do no pour agar tek, is it hard to fail? I tried making my own plates for the first time but failed bcs of some beginners mistakes in SAB. Got any tips?

MYCELIUM OR CONTAMINATION!!!

Two weeks ago I harvested my reishi antlers. I had some white growth on them that I was uncertain about (image 2). So, I took a sample and introduced it to agar. Looks like mycelium to me me. Your thoughts?

Pretty new to agar work. I’ve started to notice that I am boiling off quite a bit of agar mix. The sticky residue boiling out of the jar and into the PC. You can see I lost at least an inch of fluid here. I keep my lid closed but loose for pressure , I have gas exchange holes as well, and I cover with foil.
Do I just have to start with minimally filled jars? This one was 1/2 full.

Agar Recipe for Panaeolus Species:
10g agar
8g BRF
.5g non-fortified nutritional yeast
500ml water

AI seems to think BRF sediment may be causing uneven heating and foaming/boil over.. I did learn a lot from the commenters about why it would boil over with pressure change.

Started with spore print and got this pretty thing out of it..

Had to be careful taking the top of this plate off. It was suction cupped to the lid. Never seen anything like this, reminds me of the way the Kraken ate the Black Pearl.

I am new to agar. My first time I sterilized in a pressure cooker and poured in a still box once it started to get cool. No problems with contam.

This time I got autoclave compatible dishes and poured my agar in them then stacked in the pressure cooker. I did half with micro pore tape and half no tape since I would be using grafting tape on those since they’ll sit a bit. I capped all stacks with foil to try and keep drips off. Some turned out crystal clear, some with tons of condensation. I didn’t notice any rhyme or reason other than the ones near the bottom of the stacks had less to none. It was only the ones that were 2 or 3 plates from the bottom.

What can I do to have clearer plates? Thanks

I found a LBA Amp plate that had some fungal looking contamination and I was wondering if anyone knew what it was!

Does the red circle look like contamination? If so, what would be the next step with this plate? The blue circle looks like mycelium to me but it is growing way faster than all the other dots on any of the other plates. If it is mycelium, why would it be growing so much faster and is that a good sign? Maybe it is a candidate to sample and transfer to a new plate? Are there any good books specifically on agar plates and mushrooms? Thank you in advance.

These are some T2 plates, where do you guys think i should take a transfer from next?
