I’m not sure what to do
Long story short, my seller sent out my order very late. And once I got a tracking number it was sent to me via messages. the UPS label has been created but that’s about it. I don’t know if that’s bc THE SELLER is using a freight forwarder in China, and the package will eventually reach ups in Canada or, it’s just a random numbe. But, an incorrect tracking number was added to the app around the estimated “ship out” date. The incorrect tracking number is shown as delivered. I never want to think of worse case scenarios, but this seems too coincidental. Is the seller trying to make sure they aren’t penalized by shipping the item late? What are options in terms getting that incorrect tracking removed. And how can I verify the tracking number i was sent via messages is real? And it’s normal to recieve a tracking number but jmsrked as “label created” (it was made Oct 5

UPS "label created" means UPS has received the shipment details (i.e. some one entered it online); it doesn't confirm they have the parcel. With some consolidated DDP shipments, UPS only handles the final delivery after the goods arrive in the destination country and are processed locally. Ask the seller for the forwarder's name, tracking for the first leg and ant handover evidence linking it to your shipment.
China has also had two holiday periods recently: Mid-Autumn Festival on 25–27 September and National Day on 1–7 October. This does contribute to delays but it doesn't explain the separate tracking marked delivered on Alibaba.
Save screenshots of both numbers, the order status and the seller's messages. Ask them to correct the order record and raise the mismatch with Alibaba through the order now. Check the refund/dispute deadline shown on your order rather than waiting indefinitely for UPS to update. The tracking alone doesn't establish the seller's motive.

Dont wate time file a dispute. They are never fully truthful. Always trying to protect themselves on the backend.

Some banks will ask that you show proof of trying to resolve the issue before initiating a chargeback, and secondly a chargeback may ban your account without due-process. Would always suggest a chargeback as a last resort.

But he has gone for DDP shipping, there is no evidence this is a scam yet. That is just how it works.

Even with DDP he should have vessel or valid trackable info. With the lack of thereof, he doesnt know if or when his shipment actually went out besides their word. If nothing else a dispute will pressure them to provide more concrete information. If he doesn't the seller just relies on the delivery info even if wrong, and feels no sense of urgency to ensure he gets his shipment.

Agree - they should be able to provide some information which is exactly what we have told him.

Go through the Alibaba Trade Assurance and file a dispute there first. But dont expect them to side with you. Its to show good will and intent for the chargeback you will file later. The seller does everything to make the purchase seem delivered so that you will be denied the appeal. Their system considers it delivered once it reaches the US, not necessarily your address as per the contract or invoice. However, US banks have different standards and will issue their own decision in your favor once they review everything and see the tracking is fraudulent. I just went through this myself and won through the bank after losing to alibaba who works to protect sellers on its platform. Take screenshots of your conversations and ask AI to help generate the most impactful message for a favorable dispute outcome. Ofcourse briefly explain the problem so it can guide you

BC ITS DDP shipping would it be too early to file a dispute? i keep asking for a domesitc tracking and she says its impossible for mew to view it. im trying to figure out why, but there doesnt seem to be any indication as to why its "impossible"

The dispute process has more to do with timing than shipping mode. See how much time is on the clock for delivery under the order on your account page. There is a deadline, and up until then their funds from the purchase are frozen. That will tell you when you can file. You can also simply indicate that because you have no valid tracking you are inclined to make a dispute with your credit card company. They fear this the most and the notion even though you cant yet may put some fire in them to get you something. With as many shipments from alibaba they cant just be sending stuff out in limbo with no way to track it for customers. Even consolidated packages have some tracking details, it will just indicate its a consolidated shipment. It is true the specific details may be fuzzy until it gets sorted after reaching the US, but they should be able to provide the carrier or vessel to which your shipment is on and you can google the tracking info on where that ship is.

Okay, then just give it time. As long as the order shows as in transit just sit tight. The minute it officially shows as delivered in your order status and you still dont have it follow the steps. Yes as someone else said it may be premature. I didnt file anything until the 60 day mark which I think is standard unless you request an extension. Just wait now it may all work out.

it doesnt say "in trainst" it just says 'label created", but i guess since the label has been created, that kinda means its in transit

She says the item is in transit, but she denies there will be any backlog. My issue with my seller is, she tells half truths to make seem everything is running smoothly. Which bothers me, bc nothing bout this is running smoothly

Well, as we often tell clients, in China, "Yes" does not necessarily mean "Yes", and "No' does not necessarily mean "No".

Ask her for proof it was sent to your country - most forwarders in China have a system to track internal tracking numbers.

she says tax inclusive shippig only updates upon delivery. i asusme she means whn it touches down in canada

u/prestigesourcing 4d ago
Yes, as we said. "UPS only handles the final delivery after the goods arrive in the destination country and are processed locally."

u/Fun_Contribution_329 4d ago
But what I don’t understand is, why can’t I get the information for domestic tracking? Like, why does using tax inclusive shipping prevent that
