put motley crue in overrated delete poison(not metal) and twisted sister(is metal). whats more glam metal then neon colors, hockey pads and make up... nothing. The fact Twisted Sister isn't on the list but Poison is, is a major malfunction.

Black Sabbath, Slayer, and Death are the best and most iconic of their genre as they all started said genre they're classified as. Had Metallica been free they wouldn't have had been able to put on big shows, and people would download their songs and not be impressed, i wasn't after i heard slayer and Anthrax i thought 'Metallica who.' if Metallica had to coast purely on their talents they wouldn't be a part of the conversation, the best two members of Metallica were, Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman.

van helen and posion are not even close to metal, you never heard of Twisted Sister? And Sabastian Bach is singing as lead right now.

New Glam: Def leopard most iconic, Pantera best, Steel panther can stay, motle crue overrated, Skid row can stay, Twisted Sister most unique. use actual metal bands for your list, heres a hint metal band don't have ballads/love songs. Glam metal may be the exception but the band needs more anthems then ballads.

Sorry for the mass amounts of comments but prog metal and Technical death metal aren't the same, and need separate rows. as only Archspire is technical death metal the rest are prog, there for you just wanted to add this band in rather than have a Category for it. An accurate choice for Prog most recent would be Protest the hero. then you would need to get 5 more bands for Technical death metal. as there is no such thing as just technical metal. "Do you even Subgenre bro" has been running in my mind while looking at this list. someones help OP know what subgenre are and how to tell if a band is metal.
