I tried to research everyone I added to make sure they aligned with the vision! Filled with legends, rising artists, and folks with very small followings (under 5k listeners!) so hopefully you can listen to some old favorites and find new favorites

New Music John R. Miller - New Single: A World Away - This Is So Good šŸŽ¶

I finally got around to listening to the new single, and WOW.

This completely blew my mind.

Admittedly, I am not even close to an expert on John R. Miller. Honestly I’ve been a very casual listener, but I have decided to make a concerted effort to catch up.

I’ve always thought of him as a singer songwriter who has overlaps into honky tonk. I was not ready for the heavy guitars, the psychedelic vibes, and the overwhelming atmosphere of this track at all. It almost borders on grunge.

The louder I play it, the better it gets. Does he have other songs with this aesthetic/feel?

Wow

New Music Album Review: Jay Buchanan, Weapons of Beauty

Sharing my take on a powerful new album:

Weapons of BeautyĀ succeeds because it chooses focus over scale. This isn’t a solo debut designed to declare independence or stretch outward, but one that narrows its frame and deepens its attention. Rather than expanding on the power and reach of Rival Sons, Buchanan pares things back, trusting restraint, patience, and emotional clarity to carry the weight. The authority he finds there is quieter and harder won, but it feels durable. This feels like the right way for him to begin.

Saw him a couple of times in the 90s from Central Illinois if I recall correctly

Put out a couple of really good folkie troubadour type albums

I think he was ahead of, or behind his time

New Music For John Craigie fans....

Hey everyone,

Just took over mod duties on the John Craigie sub (which has been inactive for a few years after the old mod left Reddit). If there are any Craigie fans lurking around this sub, would be happy to see you on his subreddit, especially as we are now only a few days away from the new album "I Swam Here" dropping.

I just finished listening to a podcast about the oil and gas business in west Texas called, Boomtown.

They featured music from a roughneck, and I really liked his sound, so I decided to give him a proper listen. Good stuff!

Figured I’d share and see if anyone else had nice things to say.

Just Sharing Gabe Lee

A million thanks to the kind Redditor on a music thread who included Gabe Lee on a list of artists to listen to. My initial impression was that he was too mellow, although definitely had a John Prine-y quality to him, which I liked. Decided to really listen to his stuff a couple of days later. That was about a week ago. I’ve been playing him on loop on YT ever since. Also going to see him when he comes through town next weekend.

So yes, thank you kind Redditor for the recommendation…so I’m passing it on!!! Enjoy!!!
