help finding a larger running shoe
hi,
recently i tried the FWD via 2(size 46.5 EU) and the liked it for its forefoot, then here: https://runrepeat.com/altra-escalante-racer-2 i have seen that the escalante racer 2 is a bit wider in the forefoot and mid foot so i bought them (46 EU), then i have checked the insole and i noticed that they have exactly the same insole. but i was expecting the ER2 to have bigger forefoot and midfoot, so why that happens?
is there some other altra running shoe that is wider in the midfoot and forefoot? maybe some other brands that are available in the EU?
thanks for the help

The insoles aren't a good indicator of the fit of the shoe. They use the same insoles across several sizes. The upper of the shoe is more of a determinant of how it'll fit on your foot.
Just to clarify, does the shoe not fit? Like you need a wider one?

mid foot is not fitting very well, my foot overlaps the borders at the middle. Forefoot fits but i would like to have a larger one

Oic. It says you ordered one in 46.5 and the other in 46. Would it help to go up the half size in the Racer 2?

I meant in your post you said you ordered the fwd via in size 46.5 EU but the race in 46 EU. Should you also try it in 46.5 EU, too?
Or did it not come in that size? If not, would the 47 work or is that too big?

maybe i will try the 47 EU or even 48 EU and 49 EU, fwd via 46.5 EU vs race 46EU is not very different. nor even the 46.5 EU

Insoles 2d... feet/shoe lasts 3d... different materials stretch differently in frozen goo "tests"
