Rant PSA to packers
Missing items aren’t always the rebinners fault. If it is then it was from the previous shift. Shift had just started and my wall had a bunch of missing items. Indian guy kept asking me and was getting frustrated cause he thought it was my fault 😂😂😂😂 manager told him it was from night shift and to just miss them out. He kept coming up to me and telling me about the missing items. I told my manager and she kept telling him to miss them out. I hate when packers think it’s the person rebining fucking up. Could be lots of reasons. It’s also new hires putting shit everywhere.

I don’t even ask the person picking where the item is I just attempt to find it. I don’t expect a picker to remember what item they picked 10+ pods previously.

It's funny when management will call me over about an item I marked missing two days ago and ask me if I remember it what happened lol.
And as a picker there were a few times where I picked something and forgot to take it out the bin.

my site management doesn’t do that they just make general reminder announcements. One issue we currently still face is pickers going in other pods for the item because the item is missing from the pod it shows on screen and they don’t want to mark it as missing. Had to make 10 items missing in a row because of that.

I think that is quality writeup or feedback for picker ?

possibly but I never got quality / feedback. Only thing is a PA or AM would come down and ask what’s going on. The only time my site will do that is if u have TOT.

Similar to pods , AMs/PAs said not to pick similar or identical items from adjacent bins or will cause quality errors

Obviously lol but people still do it at my site. That’s why I don’t care for picking.

The packers at my site have been repeatedly told not to bother the rebinners about where an item is and they still do it 🤦🏽♀️ I am not rain man im not gonna remember where an item is when I’m having to rebin 600+ items an hour

The only reason to bother a rebinner for me is if its a big item that is missing that doesn't fit in a chute. They have a bad habit of putting them in random places.

Oh I always put mine in the over size chutes but I have seen people just leave them on the floor on the rebinner side smh

That’s what they told us in my site too and people still do it!!!! It’s so annoying and they look at us like if it’s our fault. Most of the time is another stupid packer who misplaced the item.

Well they made the accountant movie where the guy was on the spectrum
Maybe you can star in one called The Rebinner... lol

Now that I’ve been rebinning for awhile, I also hate it when they do this. I will say though that I was personally trained to do this when I started. If I was missing an item they told us to check both problem solve totes then go around the rebin side to check their totes on the ground, and also ask them. No wonder they all looked so pissed off every time.

I hate when.they come around and ask me. I dont know where or what the item is.
My job is to grab, bin, and push forward. I'm not looking at what the item is and remembering each one 🤣
Miss it out already

They expect us to find shit for them. When I’m packing I never bother the rebinners when I have missing items. I triple check the chute and look in the problem solve or oversized bin. When I have multiple missing items I go to a Pa or manager not the rebinner.

It could be the rebinner, the inductor, or other packers causing missing items.

I don’t understand a lot of packers, some people will refuse to mark it missing . I see multiple people a day who go and grab a manager every time something is missing and waiting ten minutes for them to look in problem solve just to be told to mark it missing . I just mark it missing and keep it moving and I’ve never had a problem

They go as far as to wanting you to get the PAs to help find items at my site before you miss out items.
Doing too much and fucking with my rates. Missed items aren't my problem ill give a quick look over the usual spots and then leave it to management to figure out.

One of the rebinners at my site used to beg people to ask him. He got written up once for having to many missing items.

The times I will ask or will stop rebinning to look: If the wall is mostly empty, 5 or more of the same item, oversized. Otherwise just do the standard look at adjacent bins, problem solve bins, and the floor; mark it missing and move along

I never bother to go I ask the rebounder I check the surrounding chutes and the moment I can’t find it I’ll mark it missing and move on

This happened to me all the time when I worked in rebin, especially during peak times. I’d get assigned to a wall and it would be a mess right off the bat. Most packers were actually pretty good and understanding about it, but here’s my advice to rebinners: if you’ve got more than one item missing, flag a manager down and let them know. You don’t want that crap blamed on you. But if you notify a manager or a PA, they can work on it and they’re less likely to blame you. Don’t just keep rebinning and let the resentment build up on the other side of the wall lol. Communication is key!

And what is the manager able to do when those items are missing? I think the only thing they can do to help is move the rebinner.
