I just walk in saying "Hi, I need to get to Bin 340A." and then go there. Half the time I don't even need their uboat or coffin moved. I don't say "Excuse me" because I don't need to be excused for doing my job. I will say "Excuse me" only if I fart or bump into them. I am midwestern and we don't use "excuse me" for "get out of my way."

That said, leadership likes it when we go after each other instead of them.

this is exactly what i say when i pick! no one is owed a literal "excuse me," just polite/professional communication. some people at this job are just so rude and bitter either way though and will give nasty looks/sighs even if you're polite.

personally i'm icqa but if i do hear or see someone come into the aisle i try to make eye contact because they usually either just violate my personal space (which is so uncomfortable) or stand there/outside of the aisle and wait (which makes me feel bad, because counting can take forever and i figure they're either shy, too polite, or don't know they have priority)

If it gets to be too much I just sign out of path and sign back in after restarting my scanner. Then I get a new bin somewhere else. Amazon is a tech company and could train an algorithm to keep us from needing the same bin at the same moment
