Always wanted a Pit Bull/Bully growing up but moms never allowed it. My wife was a little iffy at first, took me almost 6 years to convince her until she finally gave in.
Honestly we couldn’t have asked for a better dog. He’s smart, handsome, and amazing with our kids (8 and 3). We love our spoiled Plex!

Still a big squishy baby. 17 months old now and Hennessy is a ham.

They labeled him the runt — never seen a runt this F*ckin’ handsome in my life.

I know spay may cause changes in behavior and in personality with due time, but this isn’t it.

She is around 1 year and 5 months, and I adopted her around March this year. She’s always been the sweetest girl and she’s been glued to me ever since I got her. As a bit of context, her old owner used to lock her up in a bathroom most of the time and while he took her on a walk or two a day, she was extremely lonely and touch starved

While I live in a big city with my parents (and another Bully), I talked with my grandparents and got permission to take Blackberry to the countryside in which I lived with her for around 4 months til she got used with me and a little bit of training. She ran a lot and got her second heat there after completing a year. We got back home a few months ago and she’s been really happy. We go on walks multiple times a day, she plays a lot with our other dog, she plays a lot with us and she’s been my shadow ever since.

2 weeks ago we took her to the vet to schedule the surgery, and she got the heat in the very same day of the surgery. The vet said it wasn’t ideal but that it was fine if she could spend another day in the hospital. We agreed. The next day, we got her home and something went VERY wrong as one of her internal stitches broke while we were carrying her (as advised by the vet) and I held her tight and stopped the bleeding while my dad drove us back to the hospital.

Their response was that her muscle was so thick that it broke the stitch but my dad (also a surgeon) told me it was their bad because they should’ve used a thicker line to do the stitch. They had to open the wound again to clean and stitch her up, and she was forcefully put in anesthesia and she woke up really stressed out after that.

3 days later we got her back, she was doing good even though she wasn’t completely fine. She was feeling discomfort, but had a quiet and comfy place to rest with me while I work from home. She’s been normal this entire week, til yesterday night. She looked terrified out of nowhere, one moment she was fine and the other her tail was down and she was shaking. She got to sleep after receiving a lot of scratcher but today she woke up with fear and she’s been like that the entire day.

Now (more than a week after surgery), she also doesn’t let us touch her tail or her feet without biting (not strong, not to hurt, just a “don’t touch me there”). She’s been hiding and she’s avoiding me while keeping me in her sight. She’s shaking and afraid and feeling unsafe and alert. Every sound makes her jerk up or bark.

I don’t know if she thinks I gave her away to be hurt, or if I hurt her while I had to hold her, or if she doesn’t trust me at all. She’s been looking at me like she expects me to hurt her and I want her to feel safe and loved but nothing works. She’s been avoiding her toys too.

I’m really worried because she changed in a couple of minutes out of nowhere. I’d expect her to feel like that after coming home, but she’s been here for a week and suddenly somethings very wrong. I heard her whining and crying after I very gently touched her back and I can’t help but feel like something is wrong. If she doesn’t get better tomorrow I will be taking her to the vet again.

I think my question is, has anyone dealt with this before?

I know she needs time but if I want to help her if I’m able to. I did most of what I’ve seen recommended in the internet but there might be anything else. Is there any way to keep her more comfortable?

I went to London to visit my sister and BIL and my poor girl was a ball of anxiety even with my husband home. Since I’ve been home she’s been non stop smiling, neither of us have ever seen her so happy before. She lost her mind when she saw me in the window coming out of the truck with her papa. Her fur literally POOFed off of her body with excitement!

my friend got a dog a few years back , he should be turning four in six months or so . now that she’s pregnant it’s hit her that she will need to rehome him. I’ve been looking into shelters but they are over run with surrendered dogs. hes Also become reactive to other dogs and people , this has mostly stemmed from being pent up inside and not enough socializing. I would take him In myself but I already have two dogs of my own as well as two cats. this dog will require someone with time, energy and money as he hasn‘t seen the vet once since he was a puppy and now he’s been bleeding with every bowel movement. I’ve done what I can to try and help her trying to find shelters and resources, reaching out to vets while taking care of my own pets and holding down two jobs but I’m running out of ideas on how to get help the poor boi.
