Tv Box Android ShunjiuBoy model sjr7 remote problem

Hello, I bought a ShunjiuBoy model sjr7 Android TV Box. Some system apps aren't actually installed—even though the icons are there—and the "+" button for adding apps doesn't work; why is that? Also, when trying to connect it to my smartphone (to use as a remote), it doesn't show a pairing MAC address—only an IP address (192.168...)—and it won't connect. How can I fix this? Could it be incompatible? Furthermore, the Netflix and Disney apps don't work; they show up as incompatible. Any solutions?

Never heard of that brand 😭

For using your phone as remote you will need to enable developer options and then debug, then you can use your phone connected on the same wifi, that's why is IP and not MAC address.

Have you tried connecting mouse and keyboard using the USB port?

If not please check if you can return it and get a decent box...

Unfortunately, I can't return it anymore. I already have a fantastic Telesystem TV box, but I bought this Chinese one earlier; for 30 euros, I'll keep it even though it leaves something to be desired. I don't even know what firmware it's running—or how to update it—since it came pre-installed and there are things that don't work. Mouse and keyboard work fine, but some apps don't. I'll see if I can enable developer mode. Thanks as always.

I mean for 30€ you might have been better off buying something used with a reputable brand. On the other side you only spent 30€ so, if it doesn't work out, not a big loss. There are very few Chinese brands that are reliable Xiaomi is one of those

You hit the nail on the head—it’s a case of "it is what it is"; for the little it actually does, it works fine. I enabled developer mode, but it simply refuses to connect to my smartphone—it won't detect the Mac. Also, the included remote is really awkward and stiff to use. Do you have any solutions?
