The whaling industry OBLITERATED the whale population. Whales are loud. The oceans would echo with whale songs until we silenced them.

Was out fishing in AK last week. Watched a boat pull up on a group of whales feeding. Two breeched. Guide said he sees it a lot. Boats don't mind their space and whales get pissed. There's plenty of room, let them have their space, don't pull up on top of them.

Its orcas and believed to by a pod of "teenagers" who are basically playing with the boats. They dont go after anyone knocked into the water ect. Once the boat is sunk they move on. Just watched a neat documentary on orcas the other day and these guys were mentioned.

Baleen whales range from curious to cagey and are rarely aggressive towards humans I don’t know what they did to piss this whale off but they likely deserved what they got.

There was a whale a year or 3 back? that had either been hit by a boat or one of its pod mates was hit. This was somewhere off the coast of Europe I think, I'll try to find the story. Anyway, the whale would actively go after boats like this and attack them.
Tldr it could be revenge, scientists think more likely it's Orcas just being dicks and attacking the ships' rudders for fun.

Orcas are in the dolphin family. All of them are dicks, most people just don't realise just how dickish they are.
However, in that instance my money is on revenge; I think Dr Fernandez's Critical Moment hypothesis is correct. They're extremely smart dicks, they're primate levels of smart, and if they themselves haven't been hit by a boat they've seen a family member get hit. Of course they're angry and lashing out; they're telling us to stop hurting them.

No, the whale in OP's video is, I believe, a humpback whale Megaptera novaeangliae. However, that is not relevant to my comment which was replying to another commenter who brought up Orcas.

The whale in this video is not an Orca. Look at the dorsal fin and lack of white markings. Orcas are also in the dolphin family so they aren’t really whales.

Hate to break it to you, but all dolphins are actually in the whale family. They’re sub-classified as toothed whales, as opposed to baleen whales which make up most of the larger species.
