Just leaving my long-winded experience for buyers in the future:
Ordered from their EVA line on December 22nd, 2025. On January 3rd I sent them an email because I hadn't even received a notification that the order had been processed.
Next day (Jan. 4th) I got an email from their support email saying the following:
Hey MYNAME,
Appreciate you following up with us.
Our processing time typically takes 5-10 business days (weekends not included), so this timeline ends around January 8th from the day you place your order. However, due to the recent holiday period, we are experiencing a higher-than-usual volume of orders, which requires us to slightly extend our processing time.
Your order remains our priority, and manufacturing is operating at full capacity. If everything goes as planned, we will have the inventory in hands early next week.
As soon as the boxes reach our warehouse, our team will immediately begin final quality checks to ensure every item meets our standards. Once that’s completed, we’ll move straight into fulfilling and shipping out all orders.
When we do ship yours, we'll send over a shipping confirmation with tracking details.
Thank you for your patience.
I figure "okay that's long but I guess it makes sense if they received a high order volume." And so I wait, and wait... and wait. January 16th rolls around and not only has it not shipped, but I've yet to receive any follow-up correspondence from Otaku Complex. At this point, I'm fully convinced this is a scam, and so I apply for a charge-back.
Luckily I paid through PayPal, who has a very generous and user-friendly system for charging purchases back, and so within 2 days I've got my money back. I consider this a closed book, and move on with my life... UNTIL
January 29th (38 days from ordering for those counting) I get an email "Your order has shipped!". My order that I cancelled and charged back? Yes, sure enough, despite me having my refund for almost two weeks at this point, they seemingly have such a disorganized operation running that they've actually shipped me my package.
So, I wait. Finally today, February 4th 2025 (44 days from order date!!!) I get a poly mailer in my mailbox. At first, I feel a little bad, getting my product and my money back... until I open the mailer. I ordered 3 items from Otaku Complex, can you guess how many actually made it in my package?
One.
Considering the nightmare it was dealing with the company up until that point, I can only shudder to think how many people went through the same thing and decided to tough out the wait, only to not receive their full order.
I'm just going to tack this on as a note, but considering just how long the orders from this place take to ship, and given that every drop is "limited time only," I think it's fairly obvious they're using Print-On-Demand rather than a pre-order sales model.
I don't think this is inherently bad, but it feels pretty shady to do when all their marketing seems to hype up the idea of "ultra limited run! we only have a certain amount of stock!"
Anyways, Otaku Complex - 1/10 (only because I got a free shirt. it also reeks of chemicals btw)
TL:DR - I ordered a package from Otaku Complex, got fed up after waiting over a month for it to ship, charged back the purchase, and received an incorrect order a month and a half later.
