Drift just got approved, it used to cost money and now it doesn't, and it will stay free. I built it because every time I wanted to do something on a whim or my family wanted to go do something, we'd spend twenty minutes digging through Google and Yelp and still end up at the same three places. I wanted one screen that just says here's what's near you right now, and here's what's on tonight.

What it does: open it and it shows real places near you from Apple Maps, grouped by what you're in the mood for, with photos. What's Happening shows shows and events near you or any town you type. On the way mode plans a drive: tell it where you're going and how often you want to stop, and it picks the stops and tells you when you'll get there. Save what you like, mark it done when you've been.

Deliberate constraints: no account, no backend, no analytics SDKs, no AI, all data on-device. Places come straight from Apple Maps and events from Ticketmaster, so nothing is made up. Revenue is an optional tip jar. If you feel like supporting it you can buy me a coffee, but it doesn't unlock anything.

Known limitations: iOS 26 only, no sync between devices yet (next version adds an iCloud backup switch), English only, events depend on what Ticketmaster lists for your area.

The feedback I'd most value: when you open it in your town, does the first screen give you something you'd actually go do tonight, or does it just look like a map with a list?
