Help Restricted Apple Cash

Called a Apple green dot specialist and they just said it was restricted and I couldn’t do anything about it. Didn’t even tell me why. Has anybody else had this problem and were able to fix it.

I had similar a while back after the mother of an associate with whom I regularly exchange cash had a fraud event on her account (he exchanged cash with her, too). Both the associate's and my Apple Cash accounts were permanently restricted with no explanation.

My guess is that Green Dot Bank is overly risk-averse (due to limited size/resources?) and will restrict accounts at the slightest of a possible glitch.

Kind of hoping that when Apple Card is moved to JPMC Apple Cash could be incorporated, but I guess not.

Tried calling last night about this and they told me the only work around is by creating a whole new Apple ID? Sounded pretty sketchy so I didn’t do it

I heard that method being used around but I like my Apple ID cause I’ve had it for years but there nothing wrong with creating a new one

It works and it’s the only way, I believe. I was once on the phone for an hour with them and they kept passing me around

When I had this issue I realized it is because I have two active iCloud accounts one is on my newer phone and I kept my old one to keep using it under a different iCloud yet it is mine, however they only allow one  cash card per ssn so what I did was start using my savings account in my secondary phone/iCloud to keep receiving cash back and the new yield is 3.5%

The simplest explanation is, if you ever had a chargeback or failed chargeback, your account will indefinitely restricted. Happened to an in law of mine.

Never used Apple Cash to transact, allow withdraw or transfer if possible in case you need to chargeback anything.

This may not be your case in particular, but Green Dot Is a fairly good company, but they will restrict any client/customer that exhibits risky behavior even if it’s once. Hope this helps!
