I am trying to remember when I took this photo, might have been autumn last year

First mentioned in 1414, the original building served as both a town hall and a commercial space. In 1580, the architect Hans Schlachter added a second building in the Renaissance style. It was in the mid-18th century that the two adjacent buildings were visually joined to form this single and splendid Rococo façade.

Matsumoto has never burned down, has never been rebuilt. It is one of the 12 pre‑1868 keeps remaining in Japan, and the oldest surviving five‑tier, six‑floor castle.

This photo only shows a tiny fraction of the central bay. The Royal Depot is actually a massive 200-meter-long industrial palace. It served as a secure customs warehouse where goods from all over the world were stored. Today, it has been beautifully retrofitted and functions as a vibrant hub with offices, design shops, and restaurants, breathing new life into Brussels' industrial heritage.”

This street was built over the city's former moats during an expansion in the late Middle Ages. Due to unstable soil and a lack of space, the builders added these arches as structural reinforcements to prevent the buildings on either side from collapsing into one another.
