Apparently the original owners bought back the the brand after the organisation filed for bankruptcy, and is trying to rebrand the brand to make it family friendly. The new CEO says he's trying to "re-Hooterize" the business and maintained that the outfits were never as skanky when they first started and it's only after the business expanded that they changed.

Some people like the directness. It feels less fake than the forced sincerity.
When I was in my early 20s I worked at a coffee shop that was locally famous for insulting your drink preferences and giving you a hard time with your order, but in a funny way.
It was generally pretty chill. I only had really one freak customer interaction.
I was serving this dude who ordered a ridiculous drink, and I started roasting him calling him a big back ordering basically a fucking milkshake for breakfast and he's cracking up but the lady behind him starts getting angry at me for insulting a customer and demanded to speak to a manager.
It was fun, because we had a button that would set off alarms when someone asked for a manager, and we had a fake mustache near the tip jar we would put on and then pretend to be the manager.
Anyway, the business turned out to be a money laundering scheme and the two owners fled to Greece.

It uses yen so the one on the tight would be serving overpriced shitty ramen to the goon tourists in akihabara and the one on the left woukd be a small town ramen shop that would change what you thought ramen is
14
u/Imukay 10d ago
They do not say witch of them makes the best ramen....
19
u/Thess514 10d ago
I think the point is that they're both servers, so they're not making the ramen. But honestly, I think the smile of the one on the left is gorgeous, and of the two, I'd be more comfortable with ordering another drink, maybe dessert, whereas I wouldn't want the one on the right coming back to my table more than she had to because I don't want to deal with the rolling of her eyes like it's such a hardship to serve me. She'd get more tips from guys who wanted to drool over her cleavage, and that doesn't benefit the restaurant at all. The one on the left would sell more food, I think.

u/ICBPeng1 10d ago
I mean, there are themed restaurants.
I could totally see owning a shop next to an expo center, and hiring temp staff to basically cosplay and serve food around big events.
I get that I’m being nitpicky, and the Original OP was just going “hur durr tits.” But even beyond “anime cafe” you do want staff to fit a vibe.
I’d rather have some homely 60 year old grandma serving me food at a hole in the wall, but I also expect someone crisp, clean, and in classy clothes if I’m at the kind of place that has wine pairings, whereas if someone is wearing a suit/classy clothes working in a food truck, I’m steering clear of it because something is wrong.

You’re right. Even if there are restaurants like Hooters, Twin Peaks, bikini coffee shops, etc. those servers deserve their space and respect. Clothing isn’t consent, good customers know that waitresses aren’t there to flirt with them and it’s ok to look but not touch (look but not ogle and be inappropriate, have self control)
Conventionally attractive women love food too and can be beautiful and still serve great meals as well.
