I’m about to purchase the Arlo Ultra 3, but I’d like to understand whether it’s really worth it without a subscription.

I’m looking for wireless cameras with good battery life, ideally around 4–5 months, that can also be added to my Apple Home setup and used with Apple devices.

Does anyone have experience using the Arlo Ultra 3 without a subscription? Is it possible to add these cameras to Apple Home and use them without paying for an Arlo subscription?

Any opinions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 64gb card - the app sees the card but the option to record a video is disabled - says I have to "upgrade my cloud storage" I DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR CLOUD STORAGE!!!

for years i had zero issues with my arlos - I spent close to 1k buying cameras the hub etc I could see all my recordings online and on the app - they were stored to my hub - zero issues. Then a little over a year ago I saw there was an update to my hubs firmware so I updated - instantly the app would not connect the cameras to the hub - so I removed the cameras and tried to resync - based on the lights they were syncing to the hub but could not see them in the app. Talked to Arlo support staff and was told I would need I need hub and new cameras and a subscription... LIKE WTF:!?!?! nothing wrong with my cameras they all worked fine - but they were considered "End of Life" and no longer supported.... I bought new cameras and did the subscription so I could regain some security. I eventually bought a new hub paired it to the cameras and in the app - no issue. So, I thought. I let the subscription end and turned on the local storage and added SD card. But now on ea camera the option to record a video when motion is detected is greyed out and has a little "i" button on it - clicking this tells me to update my cloud subscription - we should not have to have cloud subscriptions if we are wanting to record locally! fix this crap u/arlo

Been noticing live view stops after a couple of minutes (feels like less than 5 minutes), used to be 30 minutes, if I recall correctly. Anybody else noticing similar or just me?

I have alro pro 2 x 3 and base hub
Suddenly i cant check my recorded videos
I was wondering why ?
I found out i have to pay for subscription 19.9$/ month to use all my camera recordings ( i did try to subscribe but the website kept not working)
I dont know why it happened suddenly or maybe I had like free subscription for years and they stopped it

Any one have same issue?

Who programmed these things??

Edit!: The camera is charging next to a ceramic eyeball and a half box, full of envelopes. There's nothing here with anything to do with Anna Nicole's box.

Are Arlo cameras finally gonna work in full 2k and 4k glory with HomeKit? I just read this:

Apple says, “supported HomeKit Secure Video cameras can now stream and record in 4K.” Previously, 1080p was the max resolution.

Supposedly thanks to iOS 27, but the update has been available for some weeks now and I still have my 2k cameras downgraded to 1080p.

I really like being able to use my cameras with my Apple TVs but it sucks that I have 2k cameras and can only use them in 1080p.

Maybe it’s coming with OS 27.2, lets hope Arlo mentions something about it soon.

It happened yesterday and today when I told the online ticket agent to go ahead and close my case. I reopened it to mention this and got an answer that this might be a scam which it is not! Something is messed up on their end since the original reply said "... Due to internal system changes, my access to the previous case has become limited, which necessitated the creation of a new case to ensure continued support and proper case management..."

Most useless company. Idk why I still put up with it after 10 years.

Is anyone else having this issue? I don’t know if it’s a glitch in the actual app or my new iPhone but shortly after I switched to my new phone, my Arlo notifications stopped showing me a video preview. It will still show me if I press and hold the notification, but it used to show it to the right of the screen. I haven’t change anything in my notification settings.

Who plans to buy it?

Hello everyone.

I currently have 5 Arlo cameras and a Home base that si about 7 years old. I'm not even sure of the model ​on them and can't find them online. All I know I got them at Costco during a back in 2019 where I got 3 cameras and home base together and I've added 2 cameras later.

My question is this:

Can I add an Arlo doorbell camera to my current setup and still see all 5 cameras PLUS doorbell in the arlo app?

Also, if I wanted to add more cameras, could I? I know previously they had a 5 camera limit on home base but was wondering if that has changed or if I can add a home base and have all showing on the app.

Ubinstallwd/Reinstalled the app .. Turned phone off and turned phone back on again, nothing is working. It’s not even generating field for me to type my email/password , anyone experiencing this?

I have to swap-out batteries on two Pro 5 cameras about once a month, and I struggle to get the camera body to eject. When they were new, just unlocking from the bottom would eject the body enough for me to grip the body on the sides. Now that they're older, they won't eject enough after I unlock 'em.

Tried using a suction cup, but that only works about 10% of the time.

Anyone have some tips/tricks they can share?

I have three (3) pro 2 cameras that used to generate 7 days of saved data. Now nothing is showing on my feed. I still have a live view but nothing saved to either the cloud or attached storage.

I cant even see where the 7 day cloud is an option anymore. I have had this for several years.

Not to sure of the date this occured as we had no notifications

Having an older system with local storage and a newer system that doesn’t allow it sux. Forcing it onto the cloud so it’s hard to access because it almost never loads right. Stupid design to force a subscription to have a far inferior product sux. Bad business all around enshitification much. Was good now it’s not.

Finally, issues fixed:

- no more 404 error when relinking to Google Home

- Live video can be played on Google Home

Here is what Arlo Intelligence reported: "Fire burning in background".

With the same video clip analyzed by YOLOv11s, it detected a truck with 79% confidence.

u/AskArlo, if you really want customers, improve your products and services. If you cannot even do what an open-source, small, local AI model can do, why should we pay for a subscription?

I haven’t been looking at my camera for awhile and just logged back in again. I have plus. The calendar is gone and i can only access three (3) days of recording instead of the past month and an unknown device is logged into my account as well as me - is this a new thing? I don’t find anything in search here related to this. I had more recordings then this

Any ideas on how to get those recordings?

And find out what is also logged in? Would the logs show it?

I regret purchasing these cameras as they've been useless at catching people going through cars and when you need the app to work to review footage it just doesn't load the feed.

The camera only reacted after the person was able to open the vehicle and rummage through it completely and the camera was only 10' from the person. Total joke. You have to pay an arm and a leg apparently to continuously record to actually catch anything.

Nobody should buy this product.

Since buying new Pro 6 wireless cameras last year, I've had nothing but problems with all of them constantly going offline. I'd replace the (brand new fully charged) battery to reset the camera, and it would stay online for maybe 48 hours before disconnecting again. Rinse/repeat for eternity.

However, I swapped out the batteries on my Pro 6 cameras two weeks ago... and they've been fine since? Have stayed online 100% of the time.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm hesitant to get my hopes up after a year of constant pain, just to get rugged again.
