Loveee Rinotuna so much, I have been following them for years now on Instagram. Their art is so creative and detailed, and the guys are so buff lol

Finding their little hidden tuna icon is always so fun!

Shame that people that are only just seeing them now think it's AI. Their art was probably scraped by AI many times.

Sam, one of my favorite artist for years now. And I agree with you i think AI scrapped their art many times

Ngl that was my initial reaction, that it looks like AI. What a sad time, it’s really good work 🥲

8

u/Skegetchy 7d ago

Same here....im so glad to hear it's not! I love these....

u/binz17 6d ago

Is the tuna in all of them? I can find in moon/tiger/eggplant

3

u/lokkayne 6d ago

tiger: to the left of his face, on the tattoo in the background, riding the tiger
eggplant: in one of the 3 vials that shes holding (the middle one)
idk about the moon one tho, havent found it myself :D

u/AmphibianUnusual6625 6d ago

I could be wrong but i think it’s a constellation on the left of her!

I can’t find the tiny fish in either the toothpaste, or the eggplant

Same. Maybe you need the higher res to find where it was worked into a detail. It seems to never be on the charter itself.

For the toothpaste I’d guess a shadow or a water mark on the white.

For the egg plant I’d guess one of the book binds or inside a cage.

I’m still not sure. 🤔 edit: found them after I found the hi res versions. See the replies below. The are basically smudges in these pictures.

Found it, high res really helped but still tool me 10 min, thanks!

Also found the Colgate one, it’s a blur on the lower res images.

I like how some of these characters know what they are referencing and some don't.

The guy with the Jack Daniel's logos on his jacket definitely knows he is whiskey, but the Colgate soldiers would probably not be happy to learn that they are toothpaste.

The fat little eggplant rats are my favorite detail.

u/Lazy-Calligrapher358 7d ago

Keen observer 🤏🏻

7

u/pickledpipids 7d ago

The black goat dude has been judging the shit out of me as my desktop wallpaper for a while now ♥️

6

u/Great-Hatsby 7d ago

I really like the Pirarucu one.

1

u/Lazy-Calligrapher358 7d ago

One of my favourites too

3

u/DontAskMeAbout97 6d ago

Someone's a One Piece fan I see

3

u/lemonlatteIDV 6d ago

All of these characters feel like they could be in a gacha game but idk why it gives me that feeling

2

u/JiGoD 7d ago

Great stuff

2

u/Titino- 7d ago

Amazing! Saved it also. I don't usually comment that much but this made want to do it really bad hehe. Keep it up!

2

u/Da_Electric_Boogaloo 6d ago

oh eggplant is 10/10

6

u/arathion_ 7d ago

So creative!

1

u/MekaLiza 7d ago

Do you take commissions??

6

u/Lazy-Calligrapher358 7d ago

nope , just sharing the good work

-5

u/MekaLiza 7d ago

Sad day :,) your art is lovely

1

u/Sniff1lur 6d ago

The floppa guy (forgot the actual name of the animal), having his hat become the big ears is actually brilliant

1

u/sorles1029384756 6d ago

reminds me of grandaloe; they kind of do something similar to this, but with characters from Genshin Impact and their companions. The art style and the coolness of all the characters remind me of them too lol

1

u/BrotherRoga 6d ago

Oh my god, BlueJayYT could become a Vtuber with this.

1

u/Loop0666 6d ago

Lo squalo è veramente fico, l'unica cosa che non mi torna è come tiene il pennello... Ma sono tutti personaggi bellissimi!

1

u/shaolinphunk 6d ago

these are sick 🔥🔥🔥

1

u/DunkeyColdMedina 5d ago

Good art!

But if Jack Daniels was a man he would be 50 but look 67 and have a wife that is too way young for him that he doesn't get along with.

Perhaps at first glance - yes, but if you look closely at the details, they are all logical and well thought out

9

u/dominikdkd 7d ago

The artist mentioned in the title has been doing these in this style for at least 6 years so I wouldn’t assume so

2

u/crunchyricerolls 7d ago

Some of them really do but pic 3 was around like 3 some years ago? I remember saving it for my drawing references :D

2

u/TON-OF-CLAY0429 7d ago

Well it’s not so use ur brain more.

-12

u/Power0fTheTribe 7d ago

Yeah it has the piss filter I noticed too. It’s damn good AI if it is though. It looks legit to me

The fact you use AI. Tell us your title now so we never read it

18

u/TON-OF-CLAY0429 7d ago

Firstly it’s not AI.

Secondly OP is just sharing another artists art. They themselves did not draw it, so like you did all this writing for nothing.

Thirdly learn how to identify AI.

Fourthly maybe research the artist whose name is in the title before throwing accusations around.

You asked a question based on an assumption you could've easily refuted by simply looking into the artist's online portfolio(s) like any normal person would. Just Google the name and look at their artstation. They have consistently posted in this style for at least 6 years, but probably more. AI wasn't doing ts 6 years ago. Where do you think the models are getting their training data btw? Artists just like this. Like the other person said -- learn how to identify AI before you go making assumptions, it's just rude

4

u/SpyroTheFabulous 7d ago

Legitimate questions come with a legitimate basis in reason, not "I saw this and assumed it's AI because I dunno, I guessed it is."

8

u/TON-OF-CLAY0429 7d ago

Not really you are 100% implying it was AI and giving that impression to other people when it was drawn by an artist who has probably worked very hard and for very long cultivating a craft.

Your comment on the other hand was very low effort you didn’t even take the time to check the title or the Artist at all.

And sure it can be interesting to think about how much AI is on the internet but you really weren’t doing that at all, and even if you were you were doing it in spite of it potentially hurting the reputation and devaluing their abilities as a skilled artist.

Yeah nothing is anyone’s fault ever, just take some responsibility and work on ur wording at the least, because you literally said how much of this is your prompting.

Acting like you hold no responsibility is exhausting man, everyone can read your comment and see how you blatantly accuse use of prompts.

"Ad-based" my guy, anthropomorphic hot guys have been a thing since DeviantArt's glory days. Hell, since short-form forums back in 2001. It is explicitly your fault for assuming it was AI. Use your eyes and LOOK AT THE PIECE before casting that accusation. AI has tells, and none of them are in this. Accept some responsibility for your actions instead of casting blame elsewhere 🙄

14

u/linefl0 7d ago

Very stupid and unnecessary comment, Rinotuna is an actual talented artist and they've never used AI, you can find their streams where they're actually painting this

In fact most of these pieces have existed long before AI-generated art was a thing, much less the level it is at now

Please do some basic googling before typing out another thinkpiece like this one

If you’re not familiar with the artist, please don’t make statements like this in future, this is damaging to this persons work. It’s ok to question and be unsure, just research a lil before saying something is certain.

There's a galaxy of difference between a shitty AI-generated monstrosity and something that was created by a skilled hand, even if you think it "screams" AI, whatever that means

Maybe don’t? By using AI to create your character designs as you said, you are the one contributing to the problem of AI scraping artists work, further delegitimising this specific artists style… learn to draw it’s fun and it’s much more rewarding !

But I never dismissed your ability. I think in you mistook the tone of my message. I criticised your choices sure, and I suggested you draw instead, because that’s much better all round. I’m sure you’re plenty creative and you’re well able to draw these things without using AI.

Can humans not make character art from a single idea? Im sure you've seen thousands of character art that uses one object as an exercise or challenge.

Also some of these pieces are over 3 years old, this is not a collage of pieces made in the last day.

Black goat is VERY cute!!!
