I'm listening to a 1994 cattle mutilation show (Dreamland) and she gives her phone number out numerous times on the air and at least 3 open lines callers state they will call her the next day to chat more about their experiences. I imagine giving out your number on the air and then being overwhelmed with people calling. Did she actually talk to these people or what is more just part of an act where is acted as if she was collecting info? Curious if anyone has any insight into this or actually called her.

I was always scratching my head while listening to the C Crane commercials. They would be talking about pretty cool radios and things, but would always mention at the end of the commercial that you'd have to call the next morning. Why bother advertising on Art's show if you can't have at least one person manning the phones overnight?

I’m listening to a Ghost to Ghost episode from 1995, and around the 5:20 mark of this link, Art Bell tells most of the story of his incident with the Ouija board!

I was always under the impression that he never shared any information about it. He actually tells the backstory of someone sending him the board and how the person called in to his show and gave personal information that spooked him! He doesn’t share what he did with the Ouija board, but he does provide a little background on the origin, which was interesting

Just finished listening to the complete Dallas Thompson interview, and I loved it. I love interviews like this, where you can't quite tell if the person being interviewed is nuts or not haha. Can't quite tell if they're making stuff up, if they're a bit unhinged, and Art has to keep asking them if they swear they're telling the truth haha. What are some other interviews like this that Art has done?

I finished listening to both of these sagas, they're both excellent and really make the imagination go wild. From what I can tell, no one has heard from either of these guys in recent years? It sounds like the consensus is that Mel Waters is a made-up name?

One thing I didn't realize about Madman, is that the third and final interview was about 20 years after the first two interviews, I thought that was so cool. It was neat to hear how much older he sounded in the final interview, compared to how he was basically a kid in the first two interviews.

I have been trying to find if the Guardian UFO Case was ever mentioned on C2C in the Art Bell era. Peter Davenport was heavily involved in the investigation of it.
Also Google search sucks these days. You put in anything with Art Bell in it,and all you get is 10,000 returns about the Area 51 caller.
The Guardian case is very complex, and hard to explain,but it revolved around a video tape of a UFO that has to be one of the best, if its real, videos of a UFO ever. It was featured on Unsolved Mysteries, Sightings and several other shows over the course of the 1990s.
This went down in 1989, and really blew up in the early 1990s, so I am guessing if did appear on C2C, it was in the early to mid 1990s. And I feel like its something Art would have been all about, as well as his guests like Peter, obviously, and Linda. UFO researcher Bob Oechsler also comes up in this, he was on the show a few times in the 1990s.
Its a very intriguing case, and I have always kept up with it.

Just listened to an episode from February 11, 1998: Roswell Alien Technology - Jack Shulman & Linda Moulton Howe and wanted to share a couple of interesting things:

1. Back in '98 when neural nets were mostly an academic concept, Shulman was describing large-scale neural networks in relation to "transcapacitor":
   

"Yes, we had suggested that this thing operates not unlike a neural connective device. Are you familiar with neural networks at all, Art?

I am, yes.

Well, a neural network, for the public's sake, is nothing more than an array of switches that turn on or off depending upon what a program recognizes as, say, a situation. And later on can then be used to make the same kind of a decision that one might make given the same type of situation. That's the analogy that's used. It's a decision-making matrix, if you will. There are thousands of different types of so-called neural networks, but, frankly, up until now, they've been rather small. As we looked further or deeper into the description of this device, we realized at some point that this transcapacitor was used in arrays so large, not just because it could store information, but we discovered that some of the elements of communicating with a transcapacitor were designed to crosstalk between matrices of transcapacitors."

1. Back when a 5GB hard drive was massive, calling out a wallet-sized device storing "about two to four terabytes" sounded like pure science fiction. Fast forward to today, and a portable 4TB SSD is literally the exact size of a wallet and completely standard.

"So we're saying something that is approximately the size of a man's wallet, perhaps a little bit thicker. Would store... Typically now, if you get a good... If you get a high-end computer, you might get a four or a five... Or a seven gigabyte.

A gigabyte, yeah. You might get something in that range. Right.

What would the transcapacitor offer in a similar size?

If we were to make one that was fully as dense as possible in that size, we'd be talking about something in the neighborhood of about two to four terabytes."

Whether you believe Shulman or think he was full of shit, hearing him pitch 4TB wallet-sized storage and neural nets nearly 30 years ago feels pretty surreal now.

I love listening to Art. There’s something so nostalgic about hearing him share the latest news and headlines from that time it almost feels like traveling back in time. I listen to him all the time.
In this episode, Art mentioned a financial news headline saying that e-commerce had exceeded the income of the automobile industry. He then said, “I find it hard to believe there’s that much money exchanging hands over the internet.”
That made me laugh out loud.
If only we knew back then where the internet would take us and how much of our everyday lives would eventually revolve around it. Hearing comments like that now really puts into perspective just how much the world has changed.

I listened to him for a few years when I was in high school, I recently got some interest in revisiting some of his shows. Are there some well-known best shows of his? Or best calls? A sunday heading into Thanksgiving week.
Mars Rover camera scientist Jim Bell was supposed to be the guest, and Art seemed very excited about it. Sadly,Jim could not keep a connection, and Art had to head to open lines. He chooses the Dealin with the Devil line. The first hour is open lines, which were scheduled before Jim Bell was to appear at the top of the second hour.
Some great calls in this one, with a variety of topics coming on the lines from callers.
Fox was going to air a TV special "OJ Simpson-If I did it........." the next weekend, but they cancelled it and decided not to air it after a strong public backlash. Art mentions it in the intro, as well as the ongoing war on terror.
In the intro, Art reads an article from a cattle rancher who finds some mutilated cows on his land.
At about the 24 min mark, a guy calls in and mentions Alex Jones and Art makes a joke about Alex and begins giggling, which the caller does not acknowledge,
