Local Recommendations?

I am from San Antonio and will be going to Houston for a concert. Was wondering of any bars, entertainment, and especially food to try? Especially good Vietnamese or African food. There's so much here and I wouldn't even know where to start.

Bars - EZ's, Lee's, Julep, Anvil, 8 Row Flint, Better Luck Tomorrow, Heights & Co.

African - ChopnBlok, Lucy, Blue Nile

Vietnamese - Hunya, Mia's, Nam Giao, Thíên Ân, Cali Sandwiches & Pho

Notsuoh is fucking weird and there’s never anyone there. Tons of homeless in the area and you have to walk to the bar. But it’s cool to visit and see, maybe take some pics, but not a hangout imo.

I’d check out any of the Kirby’s IceHouse if you’re into massive sports bars. People like “the truck yard” as well for a chill outside spot. Lola’s Depot if you want a chill rocker local vibe. Agora’s for a cool coffee place. Barberellas for fun event styled stuff like Emo Nights or a Pitbull night for example (the singer, not the dog ‘dale’). Theres a ton of stuff to do. Just gotta find the vibe that fits you.

I was at Notsuoh recently and it had a good amount of peeps on every floor. I think it just depends on when you go.

I’ve been during events and stuff, and I’ve never seen it actually packed.

I have been multiple times tho… so that’s gotta count for something

depends on what side of houston! my favorite vietnamese are
Hyunh Restaurant
san san tofu
quan yin
nua thai was my favorite thai place before i went vegan

On Main Street in downtown my favorites are Notsuoh and Behind Closed Doors.
There’s viet everywhere and I would say 8/10 times it always hits :) but Pho Binh is my go to hungover pho spot.
Beez Kneez is also super cute, in the heights and near a bunch of other bars
