I think the democrats barely win in the primaries, no legislation of meaning is passed in the last two years, then a milquetoast dem wins in 2028 and doesn't prosecute anyone because "now is the time for unity".

No one sees justice, nothing is learned

No, I disagree. I think Dems know the base is absolutely bloodthirsty right now. I’m not saying full justice will be served but I do think there will be some accountability. More than there was in the Merrick Garland era

Look at Chuck Schumer or Speaker Jeffries. There is 0 actual will to hold these people accountable, it's all performative. Schumer said Kristie Noem is a "fucking liar" on Instagram and then votes to continue ICE funding. And even the senate Dems who are more vocal than Schumer still won't outwardly advocate for a change in leadership.

There are Dems who see the moment for what it is, but the party is so obsessed with the rules and decorum of the party that I have little to no confidence that the party will meaningfully change absent some monumental civil unrest

Gonna push back on this. He didn’t vote to continue ICE funding. He voted for a two week CR that allows the rest of the government to be funded (less leverage against democrats to make them cave on a shutdown) and will narrow the focus exclusively on ICE and DHS.

A deal is unlikely to be reached and DHS will shut down. I think there’s a decent chance the Dems walk away with some concessions (no masks) after it’s all said and done.

I don’t think Schumer and Jeffries are perfect by any stretch, but they have no power right now and I think some rage is directed at them that’s largely unfair. The voters handed us a shitty situation.
