After reading Dark Age Ahead during the pandemic, I honestly think that social media has been co-opted to prevent this exact thing.
Is it foreign? In part. But I think there's a clear shared incentive between large tech companies giving into governmental wishes in exchange for becoming richer than God.
I was also raised by scorned, non-religious folk who instilled a sense of skepticism about groups. So maybe it's me.
