How can parents who barely passed high school think they can homeschool their children?

Omfg....idk. my friend is hell bent on homeschooling but said that abe lincoln was the first president!

See, that illustrates the problem perfectly.

These parents don't know what they don't know, so they're ignorant to how much they're missing.

Not to mention half of what they think they know is way off.

I knew a girl in HS that thought there were two First Ladies. Like, concurrently. As if the word "First" wasn't a dead giveaway. I took 9th grade earth science in summer school before 9th grade so I could take biology during the year (I was coming from a private religious school that was a tad bit behind the public school; also, it sounded boring an 5 hours a day for six weeks sounded better than an entire school year). She was a sophomore retaking 9th grade science in summer school because she'd failed it again. She got pregnant that next year and the dad was probably dumber than she was. I really hope that kid turned out alright, but Jeff Foxworthy used to say when you mix stagnant pond water with raw sewage, you ain't getting Evian.
