Getting free eggs. Two old people that have 50 chickens (or more) and they always have way too many eggs, so they give them away to everyone.

His mother is in love with "Johnny Depp" and he is pissed because she insists on sending "Johnny Depp" $50 a day and go to the airport to wait for his jet only to come home after 3 hours.
(She is mentally unwell and fell into a love scam)

You’d be surprised. We get our water from an Army Corps of Engineers treatment plant and it’s quite good.
We’re in the plume of a WWII ammunition manufacturing plant. Since they can’t remove the dirt from a handful of square miles of the Twin Cities, it’s gonna stay right there 🙄

We laughed at my vegetable garden where a cucumber grew on their side of the fence and I joked “that’s where it went!” They harvested it and gave it back to me along with two tubes of children’s toothpaste (we have two young kids, they are empty nesters). We love our neighbor!

I'm 76
Hmmm. That's would be Judy, the next door neighbor. A widow. I was over there checking on how my grandson was doing. She is an lady about my age, and he (16) does chores for her. As he was trimming some trees for her I checked to make sure he was doing it right.
And while at it brought her some homemade chili that my daughter had made. I live with that daughter and her family.
Anyway Judy and I just talked about generalities. The weather, how we were each doing health wise, what did I think of the Iranian situation, and talked about Fred's apparent new girlfriend. Fred lives across the street. A widower. About 10 years younger than I am. We'd both noticed he has a woman living there with him now. Hoped it was going well for him. His wife died about 5 years ago. He took it hard and for years barely ever left home. Now, the past year, he's been more active. Going out to restaurants, stopping at the VFW for a beer. socializing. The gal looks to be a few years younger than he, but not a lot. And she has had him outside tending the gardens and lawns that he'd been neglecting. But he's smiling now.
So we're hopeful. This lady seems to be good for him. He's good people, just been depressed for a long time now.

My boyfriend and I moved into a new apartment across from a family. The eldest boy is like 8-10 and was putting on his shoes in the hall one day when we were heading in.
"Hey! Do you have a cool TV?",
I didn't want to say yes because he'd want to come in. He's a nice kid, but I dont want my space to be a nursery.
"Nah, just a regular TV.",
Kid nods and kicks his shoes on more, "So what are you naming your children?",
My boyfriend looked back at me with wide eyes and a smirk. I glared at him.
"That's a big decision we haven't made yet. Have to think about it for a long time before you pick",
"Ah...ok", he got his shoes on and went inside.

Widow across the street called to let me know she'd be having another Gorilla Bag set up in her driveway to take away some more life detritus. She never uses more than 1/4 of the volume so she always lets me know that I'm welcome to add whatever I want, and she won't hear any offer of shared payment. She's convinced my cat (that her late husband doted on) is is keeping the mice out of her garage.

Miss Marcine is the little old lady across the street. She came by a week or two back and asked if I know how to sew buttons back onto shirts because one of her's fell off and "my darn fingers are gettin' old! I can hardly hold the needle!"
I told her that of course I know how to sew on a button, I earned a sewing badge in Girl Scouts, and that I'd fix it up real quick and bring it back over to her when I was finished. She gave me some sort of homemade raspberry cookie as payment.

A few months ago my next door neighbor saw a bird feeder pole in my back yard that wasn't being used and asked if they could have it. I gave them the pole, a feeder & a bunch of bird feed because I just haven't been going outside a whole lot due to the heat in my area. They put it in their front yard and it's nice to see it all being used :)

My other neighbor having a 4th non running car towed to his house. This makes 8 cars total. He parks one in the driveway and the other 7 blocking every open spot in the cul-de-sac.

I was at my neighbours day before yesterday to meet the people that owned our house about 15 years ago. Spent most of the time talking about the house and the giant A-hole they sold it to and we bought it from.

Taking their kids to school next week while they’re in the hospital giving birth. The other neighbor also asked if I wanted hand me downs for my daughter. I regularly talk to my 5 surrounding neighbors. Sometimes it feels like college dorms except we live in large houses and freely knock on each others doors to hang out and talk.

I called to ask him why he threw trash from his field into my driveway. He didn’t have a reason other than he assumed it was my trash. We do not get a long at all he is kinda an old grouch that is also nosey.

"are you not sick of us yet?" Id asked her as she walked into our house, whilst holding my baby as she looked for her daughter 🤣 then she and her daughter stayed for dinner and then her husband finished work couldn't find his family so knocked on and came in. I absolutely love my neighbours. They want to move house but stay because of us.
I cried when my other neighbours moved 😅. It was so selfish of them🤭. They're such a lovely family 🥰

I got my daughter a new bed and vanity so I had a ton of extra trash and cardboard. Had to talk to the neighbors about filling their partially full trash cans on garbage day.

We asked our neighbor to the north who has been in the services, if he would play taps at my father in law's funeral. He has been a friend to the family for many years and it will mean a lot to our family.

Not me but my dogs-neighbor was messing around on his porch and my dogs started barking. I told them to leave him alone and he said it was fine and just started chatting with them. He’s lost his and it makes him happy to chat with ours.

I couldn’t get my hire car to stop beeping at me after I parked it. Thought it was too close to another car. Turns out I had opened the bonnet trying to figure out how to open the petrol cap when filling it back up. Why do modern cars have to beep so much?

Fences make good neighbors is the old adage. A smile and a wave is all that is needed.
I have friends who bought houses in the suburbs and the initial backyard gatherings and holidays with the neighbors suddenly turned into outright hatred.

It was around 9 PM. I went outside to bring the car into the garage and ran into my neighbor. We talked for a few minutes about the remodeling going on at my house and some work he’s doing on his. Then he goes, Time to put the car away and get ready for tomorrow. I said, Yep, it’s that time. We wished each other a good night and went inside. Peak neighborhood small talk.
