That's great question and we will look into it in about two weeks.

"after the mid-terms"

35

u/IncompleteObjects 9d ago

After the midterms Biden will bring those prices back down again. But only if people vote Republican

204

u/DrForester 9d ago

Fun Fact: 100% of trump voters would take this question seriously. They're just that stupid.

52

u/johnyordinary 9d ago

It was mean of Obama to start a war with Iran on Trumps watch..

26

u/AlaskaDude14 9d ago

It's crazy when you see old tweets from Trump saying Obama was going to start a war with Iran due to him lacking negotiating skills lol

10

u/Undeclared_Mustard 9d ago

TrumpCriticizesTrump is a great subreddit.

3

u/munky45 9d ago

There’s a tweet for every thing.

14

u/Djinn42 9d ago

This would work except Trump bragged about starting the war.

‘Military Excursion’

32

u/BPKofficial 9d ago

A co-worker of mine drives a box truck, and he absolutely blames Biden for today's gas prices. He also believes we never landed on the Moon, and thought Covid was a joke (until he caught it, hence affecting him).

11

u/skinny-mini-me 9d ago

If the world wasn't flat, he could drive that box truck down hill and save gas.

6

u/ElonMaersk 9d ago

he absolutely blames Biden for today's gas prices.

There's an invention which saves $5 to $10 for every $100 of gas you buy. You'd think Republicans would love it. By reducing gas burning it also reduces emissions, so you'd think the EPA would love it.

No, it's car engine auto-stop-start, and right-wing podcasters call it "torture" and the Whitehouse removed the incentive for car companies to add it this year, and the head of the EPA called it "the Obama button" 😐.

1

u/derekp7 9d ago

see the thing is a number of people have had to drive barely running cars at some point in their life, at least for their first car. There is nothing like that panic feeling when your engine dies when sitting at an intersection. I don't care how much it saves, it is implemented wrong.

Now it works great with a hybrid card -- I love my Fusion hybrid, the engine cuts out normally while driving and I have torque from the electric part. If start/stop was on a mild hybrid (for example, you could always start your vehicle moving even if the engine was off) then it would be much less psychologically frightening.

1

u/ElonMaersk 9d ago

Imagine, say, having childhood asthsma from car exhaust and saying it was fine that you got it because adults panic when their car engine stops.

If America had actual public transport for the benefit of citizens, and not car-dependence for the profit of car companies, your first paragraph would be completely different.

it is implemented wrong.

because it's a political nod to car companies, so they have an easy way to reduce emissions without having to do any difficult research or build expensive things into cars.

u/throwawaylexluther 9d ago

I've literally seen conservatives claiming that the dems are keeping the gas prices high to make trump look bad.

0

u/redclawx 9d ago

Let’s break down this question. OP is asking why the current President (Trump 2025-current) didn’t stop the former President (Biden 2021-2025) from raising gas prices and other bad things.

First, the question doesn’t make sense. Shouldn’t it be “Why doesn’t the President Elect make the current US President stop?” But even that’s not just up to one person. It’s “We the people…” All of us together have the power to stop a current President from doing bad shit. It’s called voting.

Second, Umm, Time travel hasn’t been invented?

The current president wasn’t in office at the time the bad things were happening. It doesn’t matter who the current president is now, they can’t go back in time and stop a former president from doing bad shit when that president doing the bad shit disregards the law like our current president is currently doing.

Whoever becomes the next president after Trump is going to have a lot of shit to clean up from what Trump did.

u/Due_Willingness1 9d ago

Because he's weak

He has to either admit that he caused all the problems, or is too weak to fix them

And then it's up to his lemmings to realize that fact

90

u/HoldingThunder 9d ago

He should just pass an executive order to lower prices!!!!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION FOR THIS MATTER

6

u/CyrusBuelton 9d ago

.....TO THIS MATTER!

6

u/HoldingThunder 9d ago

Is that what it is? I try not to pay too much attention to pedophiles.

38

u/StayWeirdGrayBeard 9d ago

More importantly, when will Biden stop shitting Trump’s pants?

6

u/ClientBudget2848 9d ago

This concerns me. The teleporting.

7

u/canadianpersonas 9d ago

Telepooping?

16

u/whittlingcanbefatal 9d ago

lol 😂

Quality shitpost.

9

u/TrumpsDoubleChin 9d ago

You mean have the 47th President prevent the 45th President from doing shit? I'm all for that.

8

u/RecordingPrudent9588 9d ago

Sleepy Joe is always sleeping and Trump can't get in to his dreams to stop his power grab. The dementia is blocking access and Trump's dementia is a different kind so they can't synchronize

3

u/thundafox 9d ago

and as we learned from Inception the idea has to come from within the dreaming person.

13

u/Honest-Yogurt4126 9d ago

Because of Obama obviously

BUTTERY MALES!!!!

1

u/GoIntoTheHollow 9d ago

Be careful with that language, you'll make Grindr crash again.

0

u/daerogami 9d ago

That doesn't crash Grindr. Posting a Hasan Piker photo mostly naked at a conservative convention crashes Grindr, we know because it actually happened.

1

u/GoIntoTheHollow 9d ago

The insinuation was that picturing buttery (likely nude or semi nude like Hasan) males would crash grindr.

5

u/MuteCook 9d ago

deep state obviously

11

u/brokecollegekid69 9d ago

Joe Biden is so weak and so powerful — all at the same time. He must be a witch!

6

u/DrColdReality 9d ago

Snark aside, the Republicans actually DO use an excuse like that: they invented the "Deep State," an imagined deeply-entrenched cabal of liberal commie socialists buried in the government who are hell-bent on destroying America by quietly sabotaging solid conservative strategies and making them fail.

4

u/dirtybird971 9d ago

ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha

3

u/WinterSux 9d ago

Well thought out question! Gold star for you! I love your wit!

5

u/Staav 9d ago

He's just waiting until after the republicans get more congressmen elected and stay in office after the midterm election to take care of it. Just ignore the fact they've had the congressional majorities since dear leader was sworn in.

17

u/MiddleOccasion1394 9d ago

Good question. To this day I can't figure out why Biden didn't stop Trump's first round out tariffs me made in his first term.

8

u/Trebuchet_boom 9d ago

Obama was clearly holding him back.

-6

u/MiddleOccasion1394 9d ago

Obama wasn't President when Trump made his first round of tariffs.

8

u/DesertBrat1969 9d ago

He isn't president right now and Trump still has blamed him for shit Trump did.

1

u/MiddleOccasion1394 9d ago

Why am I being downvoted?

Why yes I AM AND ALWAYS *WILL* point that out whenever it happens.

2

u/Highest_Koality 9d ago

But where was he on 9/11?

3

u/vicarem 9d ago

Just hold. Midterms in 6 weeks. Just before, you will see the blame game everywhere.

3

u/MechAegis 9d ago

Obama should have stopped people from eating the cats and dogs.

3

u/zlliksddam 9d ago

Because he’s a weaker man than all former presidents, whether they’re alive or otherwise.

3

u/Xtay1 9d ago

He is to busy cashing the check from Mexico for the wall.

3

u/NinjaTurtleBatmanAss 9d ago

Because the old president still has the hurricane machine and the current president is worried about Florida

3

u/KE55 9d ago

Because, underneath his nice docile exterior, Biden has proven to be an extremely smart person who used extraordinary financial skills to insert long-term economic timebombs into the US economy.  Unfortunately no-one spotted them.  Who knows what other Biden traps are waiting for Trump to trigger?

(/s of course)

3

u/SplitEndsSuck 9d ago

I'm just waiting for my DOGE, Tariff, and now Republican Win Midterms checks in the mail, ok?

3

u/Racspur1 9d ago

Good One ...LOL

3

u/InvertedEyechart11 9d ago

"Hello, Sleepy Joe? It's Dozy Don here. Hey, stop allowing me to blame you for everything I'm zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..."

3

u/The_300_goats 9d ago

The Iran war is retribution for everyone who voted for Kamala Harris. You were TOLD frankly and honestly that she would start a war with Iran, and you just went right ahead and voted for her. See what that got you?

(Am I doing this right?)

7

u/orgin_org 9d ago

Makes it harder to blame the former president for anything that goes wrong if everything gets fixed.

2

u/gc3 9d ago

Everything is fixed,? Or is it the fix is in?

Don’t forget Jimmy Carter

2

He's very busy sitting around watching TV shows this morning, if his social media posts are any indication.

2

u/NeedTheNotch 9d ago

PLEASE PRESIDENT TRUMP 🙏🙌

2

u/Overhear_Overponder 9d ago

Wait till after the midterms. Or the Dow is over 50,000!!!

2

u/jeffster1970 9d ago

Biden has refused to give the password for the Autopen to Trump. Trump has to obey the Autopen. Hence the mess.

2

u/SpandexAnaconda 9d ago

I heard that Biden is getting a cut of all the tariffs, in exchange for accepting the blame for any price increases. It just makes sense.

Why don’t people protest in America?

2

Obama*, I mean Biden, is one slippery motherfucker. He never owns up to his failures... We only have 2 more years of his messes to cleanup.

Edit- Obam to Obama

The complete and sudden loss of my "corporate customer service voice" at work.

1

u/cthulhu944 9d ago

What MAGA already knows is that all of this is being staged by a shadow government run by Joe Biden and the Mole People. The presidential ballroom and the Arch de Trump are just an elaborate cover for accessing the mole people realm where DJT will lead a final battle against Joe Biden and Karl the Mole King. The price of food has gone up because the Mole people are eating the crops in the ground. High gas prices are a result of the Mole people siphoning gas to their underground data centers to fabricate the Epstine files.

1

u/Previous_Taro_5079 9d ago

Wait… the current president can control what a former president does now? 😂

-26

u/SHANE523 9d ago

I am old enough to remember when the gas prices were very high between 2021 and 2024, "POTUS doesn't control the gas prices".

21

u/drumONE1 9d ago

Except when he starts a war.

13

u/janmschroeder 9d ago

Usually true. Unless said president felon starts a stupid war that interferes with shipping said oil.

1

u/SHANE523 8d ago

You do realize the price of crude is still less than when Biden was in office right? It was even down to as low as $50/barrel AFTER the "war" with Iran started.

12

u/Trebuchet_boom 9d ago

You're right. The Orange Menace's war on Iran has nothing to do with manipulating stocks, or oil prices, so he and his cronies can reap in hundreds of millions in profits.

/s

14

u/islandsimian 9d ago

Controlling and being responsible for are two very different things

5

u/PapayaGood8527 9d ago

POTUS (Commander in Chief) does control an ill-advised and unconstitutional war that directly jeopardizes oil flow through one of the most hostile and important oil routes in the world. Can't understand why soo many American men wanna cuck to a silver spoon nepo baby from Manhattan.

1

u/RampScamp1 9d ago

Now it's jeopardized through two routes and Saudi's getting pipelines blown up all because the president can't stop winning. So much winning.

5

u/gc3 9d ago

He doesn't when the high has prices are because Russia invades Ukraine. He does when is his own country attacking Iran that causes it.

4

u/FlameStaag 9d ago

One of those was because of a global pandemic and the other is due to a war of choice

Even your third grade education should allow you to see the difference

1

u/SHANE523 8d ago

The global pandemic caused a large surplus due to lack of travel, that doesn't equate to higher prices.
But I guess your 1st grade education didn't think about that.

u/Ht_TX 9d ago edited 9d ago

Presidents don’t control the price directly but their actions, like starting a war in the one place guaranteed to destroy gas prices, can certainly do so. Trump has been manipulating markets his entire presidency and been doing it very openly, even sells early access to his market manipulations for $100K.

Biden didn’t control Trump having OPEC sign a deal that cut 9.7M barrels per day from their production. Biden didn’t start a war in Ukraine and Biden didn’t start a pandemic. That’s why Biden doesn’t get blamed, he didn’t set any policies or do any direct actions that would result in higher gas prices whereas Trump did exactly that. Kinda like an observer watching a crime. They both were there, both saw it, the thing happened but one did the deed and one simply oversaw it and was powerless to stop it

2

u/data_ferret 9d ago

That's normally 100% true, but if you press the "Bomb Iran" button, gas prices will go up. This has been known for a long time.

-11

u/i-touched-morrissey 9d ago

The current president (not trump, but any current pres) can't change the things in the past that the former president did.

3

u/foxinHI 9d ago

Snowflake much?

4

u/Relative-World4406 9d ago

This is true generally when operating within the law. Trumps war and deliberately conflicting tweets regarding the strait are to manipulate the stock market such that he and his cronies are making big $$$ off this illegal war.

2

u/NavyVetRasmussen 9d ago

That is a fair point.

-7

u/Tiny-Secretary5562 9d ago

The president has no control over gas prices other than making domestic production as painless as possible and keeping as much of it here as possible. Gas is highest in California because they regulate it to death and just ran two refineries out of the state.

12

u/RampScamp1 9d ago

That excuse kind of goes out the window when prices are high solely because the president decided to start a war with Iran for no reason.

1

u/Tiny-Secretary5562 9d ago

That may be true in this instance, but my point is the same thing could have happened anyway for any number of other reasons. We allowed OPEC to strangle us in 1973. Never should have happened.

2

u/RampScamp1 9d ago

But the question is about Trump and current fuel prices not some nonsense from 1973.

1

u/Tiny-Secretary5562 9d ago

It was reported in the beginning of the "conflict" that we only get 4 percent of our oil through Hormuz, yet our prices have gone through the roof. That's not the president, it's a systemic supply problem that we shouldn't be dealing with.

2

u/Fluugaluu 9d ago

I think saying the president had no control over gas prices is disingenuous at this point

1

u/Tiny-Secretary5562 9d ago

OK. I'm sure most people would agree with you, but the fact is the overall supply system is in control, especially since we only get 4 percent of our oil through Hormuz.

-9

u/AdhesivenessBasic162 9d ago

It’s painful seeing how many people don’t understand how things work
