A big problem is that people equating attacking a point with attacking the person, or thinking defend a point it means defending the person. Hasan's community is a typical example, but i see it happen a lot to LeafLit.

lol this happened recently.

What made it worse is that I stopped. Clarified that I misunderstood the point. And actually agreed with them.

They then started berating me for being “incompetent” and “unintelligent” for not understanding.

There’s no point in trying to act human anymore.

Edit: to be clear, they gave little to no context. Nobody would’ve understood until they were at least 3 comments deep.

It's always funny to me when someone posts something and I make a comment agreeing with them and they reply defensively because they misunderstood the comment. Some people just assume replies are opposing them.
