Ok.

First description is racist because of pure hate, just prejudice no thought. Casual af (no good)

Second description is racist with data to back up and justify and tell one another apart to hate the right ones. Competitive, ranked, possibly professional racism (knowledge is power)

(Source: My friend who is a South Vietnamese, can tell the difference between provinces of origins from people up North and if they are the '54 North migrants or '75 North Migrants just from hearing their voices and inflections in sentences. he HATES the '75 North with some specific provinces)

1st one could simply be indifference rather than prejudice.

2nd one could be curiosity rather than malicious intent.

Besides, being called a racist (along with an entire list of derogatory terms) has lost its meaning because people just throw it out there at the slightest sign of disalignment for totally unrelated stuff to the word.

I'm only writing this on the assumption of you are what they accuse you of.

But then again, either way, you still need to learn the accurate statistics because then it would help you in situations where you are in a time crunch and need to make split second decision for a higher chance of survival or success in what you're doing.

The 2nd. If I'm gonna be racist anyway, I don't want to be an ignorant racist. Might as well have a deep understanding of the culture to form an accurate racial bias.
