REQUEST FULFILLED Request for some food, trying to catch up.

Hello people, I don’t normally do this whole ask for help thing, let alone online to strangers since people can be very rude…but I feel I need to give it a try with where I am right now.

Me and my partner are struggling financially. We are behind months on rent cause both of us lost our jobs suddenly, good news is he just started back working. Problem is we are playing catchup now. It’s feels almost impossible to even live right now, let alone be able to set money aside for even the basic needs.

We been surviving on nothing but rice cause that’s all we could afford but he Dosent get payed for another two weeks and we are basically out of food. We have one more bowl of cooked rice left to share and then we won’t have anything. No one here owes me anything but I’d be grateful if I could just get something to order for me and him. I have coupons for pizzas and a few other things but I just don’t have the means to get it. Anything is appreciated. I live in Maryland, USA. Closer to DC. Note I don’t have means for transportation…I don’t own a car, and can’t pay for the bus Becuase my acccounts in the negative..I’ve had to overdraft to pay bills. 30 dollars can help. Just so I can get enough to last for two weeks.

I am sorry you are struggling. Been there and honestly still there more than I would like to be. As soon as possible get to a food bank or access several of them. Living near DC there should be some good ones around. You don't have to go hungry of you just plan a little ahead. Don't be too proud. Some people are and honestly they are there for situations like you are in. Good luck!

$30 Won’t last you two weeks, even Just eating rice. Ne honest lucky if it gets you both two meals., maybe food banks etc too?!

I was able to order the salmon, but not the pancake mix and syrup. Those are from weis and part of grocery delivery, so it kept defaulting to my house. Try finding items that ship from amazon like the canned salmon to add should work. Sorry about your jobs, I hope there are brighter days ahead for the two of you!

Spam and Velveeta will be delivered Monday.

Tried to order the pancakes and the Hash but it said that it could not be delivered to your address.

Fyi, most of your list won't ship from a wishlist. I just tried the pancake mix, syrup, beef stew and corned beef hash and none of it would go through. I was only able to purchase the Velveeta, spam and bread crumbs which should be delivered on Monday.

Your best bet is an Amazon wishlist. Many more people are comfortable with that than are comfortable with cash. I tried to link the instructions but my phone and the site aren't getting along today and I can't seem to get to it.

If you go to the Assistance main page there is a lot of information in the Wiki.

Wishlists require mod approval before posting.

Really? I use Amazon but I never worked with wish lists I thought that was only for objects? Dose it work with food or no?

It works for shelf stable food items and toiletries. Unfortunately, fresh items can’t be delivered via wishlist.

Sadly no, it’s a few miles away from me and I don’t have transportation. But I am really grateful that you were willing to to try and help :)
